The room was big and the bed OK. The downstairs bar area is great. It's OK value for money and located by the seafront. Just don't expect frills from the dorms. If you're on a budget, you could do a lot worse.
I had a bit of a frosty welcome from the check-in attendant. Probably busy, but a little warmth doesn't hurt. It was Halloween, so the place was full of drunk students, which wasn't the fault of the hostel. I had to move beds because one guy was snoring to bring the roof down.

Disappointing
I liked that we were so close to the seafront and were within walking distance to the Brighton Centre. We had also stayed previously and knew the area well! They provided an electric heater to counteract the cold from the breeze the windows let in.
The fact that the windows didn't lock so let in an awful draft, which meant when the weather was windy, they rattled and made the room cold (perks of having wooden sash windows that haven't been looked after!) They did provide an electric heater though.
Having previously loved the location, this time being next to the nightclub, being woken up at 4 am was not fun. We stayed on the top floor last time and didn't really notice the noise, although there had been some, this time we were kept awake by it.
We also didn't have hot water the entire stay. It was tepid at best so with a cold room from the breeze showering was not fun.
I don't think we would stay here again, which is a shame as we enjoyed our first visit.

A place to sleep only really. No sense of a vibe or community. You'll find culture in Brighton rather than the hostel

Wonderful
Staff were very helpful and friendly, lift to room, lots of space to move around and great views. It was clean and tidy and provided towels. We would be happy to stay here again.
A little cold, as no central heating, but a heater was provided so that is good.
