Very Good
Right on the beach.
The window was stuck open so it was really cold in the bathroom.

Wonderful
The design and style of the interior is very nice. I especially liked lots of real plants in the common areas. Also, a very friendly reception staff.
It was very cold in the room, even with the heating on all the time.

Breakfast was very poor. No hot food on offer, just cereals and no fresh fruit either.

Wonderful
Room was big, with a big window, with a little view of the water. The bed was soft and the comforter was warm and comfortable. There were plugs in convenient places and the lighting was great. The curtains provided privacy when closed and the windows opened which was nice. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, check in was easy, and so was checkout. Great experience!
The bathroom was a little dirty, and the drain didnt drain the water so you stood in a puddle. The floors were a little dirty and worn down, and it was a long walk to get to the room, and it was stuffy when we first got in. Nothing too bad though

Convenient location. Unique decor and style.
It’s a smaller hotel so space is limited.

Good
This place could not have had a better location. AND an elevator. The staff was lovely.
The shower in my room was clogged so that the bottom tray was full before the water could become hot (which also never seemed to happen). I reported it and staff said housekeeping would come fix the drain but they never did. Nobody staying in the room could bathe. Probably needs a professional plumber and not an eager young person from Workaway with no plumbing experience.

Fantastic location on the seafront, close to city centre and easy to find, with great restaurants on the same road. Private ensuite room upstairs was much bigger than I expected, with ample storage and a decent size bathroom with shower. Appreciated the lift as hauling a suitcase up those narrow staircases would not have been fun. Much quieter than expected as well, but I suspect that's because we were near the end of the hall upstairs, so not much foot traffic, and a bit removed from the road as well. The duvet and pillows were amazing and kept us cosy. Re: staffing at reception, I was always back by 11pm (which is when they lock the front door) so never had to ring to be let in, but there was always someone at reception and willing to help with whatever. Used WhatsApp to ask for an iron on the first morning, and I got one delivered along with an ironing board pretty quickly, and they let us keep it for the whole stay. Even got to check in early at 2pm at no extra cost which was lovely. Overall I think I'd come back here whenever I visit Brighton, the stay was more than decent and the price was certainly right.
One of our windows didn't fully seal so we had howling wind noise at all times. The mattress was also pretty soft so I had trouble adjusting to it, leading to a couple of pretty sleepless nights. I'd read some recent reviews that said the place was cold as the central heating hadn't been turned on, and that was certainly the case for us as well in late Oct/early Nov. As I was coming from London, I brought a little space heater with me to help keep the room warm, and that did the trick - but if you're coming from further away and that's not possible, it may be a little chilly. Breakfast spread was disappointing (some pastries and cereal, or possibly a ham & cheese toastie) and expensive (£10!) so we didn't go for it, but the co-work space it's held in looked very nice.

The place was clean and cozy for a short stay, but I would definitely stay longer here, as well. Very good breakfast, easy to locate, friendly staff, early bag dropoff with no additional fee.

Wonderful
Lovely room with a patch of beach scenery. I like the quaintness of this hotel. Yes, this may not be modern. But the ambience took me back to the old times of Brighton and the people who have thrived in this lovely place. Breakfast is superb - I love the ham and cheese and pesto cheese toastie! Kudos to the staff - in particular, James, who has been very cordial and amiable.
As I have knee problems, I did not appreciate having to walk up stairs. even within the same level. Using the fire exit to lead me through the lobby was very useful.

Great location right on the sea front. Car park on next street. Staff very friendly. Hotel spotless! Exceptionally cheap considering it was a bank holiday weekend. Room was cleaned every day, bed made and tea tray restocked which was nice. Not much noise from street considering location.
Room very basic. Mirror in dark corner of room so a bit unusable.
Due to all rooms having wood flooring you could hear everyone in other rooms. One night in the room above us there was a dog padding around all night and the next night it was 2 little children running around.
No cooked breakfast but plenty of choice otherwise.
