Parking was good but upstairs in rooms need attention
Drainage in bathroom. Shower and sink was very very slow emptying, and smell of damp when you enter room but went after a short while .

Restaurant was lovely.
Clearly a very good clientele.
Lovely staff restaurant was very charming
We were told when asked why there was no bottled water in the room for tea.
That we should use the bathroom tap for water for kettle.
Found that slightly unhygienic and pretty in considerate.
Surely that’s what most hotels do, leave a bottled bottle of water on arrival.
Very minor point but had to mention.
Overall lovely stay.

Staff were so friendly and nice on our arrival
Arrived at 10pm to be told no food and the bar was closing. We thought staying at a pub style venue would have ment we could have had a couple of drinks when we arrived

Staff were pleasant and helpful. The steak was good, but that is what Carter and Miller are known for. The location was convenient and there was plenty of disabled parking.
The bedroom was dark and cold (being below ground level), with very poor lighting. My wife found it well nigh impossible to apply her makeup, as the mirror in the room was too far away, too high and badly lit. The breakfast layout was very poor, with no decaffeinated tea available. Amazing for a hotel of this class. The only bread was rather stale sourdough, with no actual toast (ie white or granary) being available, although there was jam. Very disappointingly, the kitchen ran out of smoked salmon the first morning, so we had to settle for some scrambled egg, which had not been freshly cooked.

Our room was clean and big, and the beds were comfortable. I requested an extra quilt and was given it no problem. The shower was excellent, and there was a big TV opposite the beds.
The shower door was only half covering the shower so some water splashed onto the floor, and the TV wasn't a Smart TV

Clean, spacious room, quiet location. The staff were amazing; nothing was too much trouble and they are the main reason I’ve rebooked for December. Food is to die for and worth a visit for that alone! Another massive bonus is free parking on site for the duration of your stay
A little further out of the city than I was expecting; but to be fair, my fault for not checking distance properly. Regular bus service available though for getting about.
