Lovely staff, from reception to staff at breakfast - all extremely helpful and welcoming and couldn't be faulted. The location is great for exploring the Lanes and centre of Brighton. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent - good selection at the continental buffet (delicious homemade granola) and nice range of cooked options. I'm never too keen on the coffee machines which seem to be in all hotels now but to be fair the coffee I had was good. I didn't eat at the hotel in the evening or use the bar so can't comment on those amenities.
Was a bit underwhelmed by the interior of the hotel - it felt a bit dark and not especially inviting. Worth noting there is no lift and no room numbers (only names) so it took me a while to find my room. I thought the room itself (Lallier), disappointing considering the price. The decor and furnishings were uninspiring, the carpet a bit dingy and very stained in lots of places including a mark that looked like a hot iron had been placed on it at some point. The bathroom also felt a bit tired with a few cracks, missing grout and scuffed paintwork. The rubber seal at the bottom of the shower screen looked grubby. I was surprised that there was no hand/body lotion as part of the toiletries available which seems pretty standard in most hotels. No coffee machine in the bedroom and no fresh milk and not very tempting array of teas/instant coffee sachets/biscuits. The kettle had to be removed from the cupboard to be plugged in elsewhere in the room. The worst thing though was the noise from next door. Very loud conversation between two guests in the corridor right outside my door woke me up then led to my hearing every move from one of them in the next door bathroom - doors shutting, water running, flushing toilet, coughing, clearing throat and at one point from the sound of it, throwing up. It was not pleasant and kept me awake for some time.

Cosy and very clean hotel, really friendly staff from reception to bar staff. Shout out to the bar staff that was working Saturday evening they were super lovely!

Stylish hotel. Very pleasant staff. Lovely junior suite, tastefully designed. I appreciated the bath robes and face flannels. Excellent breakfast - the Eggs Benedict were delicious.
Room cold, even with heating at 25 degrees. Shower impossible to use without getting doused with cold water.
