Located on the seafront overlooking the Brighton Pier, Drakes is a 20 bedroom boutique hotel set in a pair of Regency townhouses in the heart of Brighton. The fully air-conditioned bedrooms have ‘Vi Spring’ beds adorned with Egyptian cotton sheets and goose and duck-down bedding, many of the rooms feature free standing baths looking out over the seafront. Positioned on Marine Parade, five minutes from the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Pier, Sea Lanes swimming, Soho House, the War Memorial and close to Kemptown Races, Drakes is the ideal place to explore the city, to enjoy the sea and beaches, to experience its famous social scene and to watch the glorious sunsets from our Cocktail Bar (or your bedroom) with a tipple or two. Due to the historic layout, the building does not have elevator access to the upper floors, if you require a lower or more accessible floor, please make this request upon booking so we can ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible.

Located on the seafront in the Kempton area meant we were only a 12 minute walk from the pier but situated away from the crowds in the buzzy environs of Kempton

We loved the location, the bed was so comfy, loved the bath and toiletries and home made biscuits.
We were dissapointed we didn't have a sea view for the money.

Beautiful property located on seafront right by the pier. Staff very friendly. Rooms well styled with lovely baths and wonderful views. Very clean and excellent breakfast included!
The rooms were a tad small, which we didn’t mind personally, however for the price per night per room plus the parking fee, this could be viewed as on the expensive side.

Shame there was not a window seat. They held a deposit for extra charges and still haven’t released it back to my account and it’s been five days

I had the most magical solo staycation in ‘Room 10’ at Drakes of Brighton. The hotel is right on the seafront and the pink “marvelous room” I booked has three gorgeous sash windows that look out at Brighton Pier-it’s such a panoramic view that at times I felt like I was on a boat! The hotel are currently in the process of renovating all their rooms into this style of interior, so be sure to follow them on Insta for the latest updates. It’s a 2-min walk from Soho House Brighton, where I am a Member. I spent a lot of time in the bath in my room looking out at the sea, before going to sit on the beach with a can of Pimms and my book. Then in the evening, I treated myself to a sunset dinner at Riddle and Finns, which is the most wonderful oyster and champagne bar. Staff are super friendly and it is great that you can have breakfast served in your room. Will be back again soon :-).

The property is in an excellent location. The room itself was very nice. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. All round a very pleasant experience.
A lift would be nice, but as the hotel is in an old building, this cannot be helped, and it certainly would not stop me from staying again.
