Located on the seafront overlooking the Brighton Pier, Drakes is a 20 bedroom boutique hotel set in a pair of Regency townhouses in the heart of Brighton. The fully air-conditioned bedrooms have ‘Vi Spring’ beds adorned with Egyptian cotton sheets and goose and duck-down bedding, many of the rooms feature free standing baths looking out over the seafront. Positioned on Marine Parade, five minutes from the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Pier, Sea Lanes swimming, Soho House, the War Memorial and close to Kemptown Races, Drakes is the ideal place to explore the city, to enjoy the sea and beaches, to experience its famous social scene and to watch the glorious sunsets from our Cocktail Bar (or your bedroom) with a tipple or two. Due to the historic layout, the building does not have elevator access to the upper floors, if you require a lower or more accessible floor, please make this request upon booking so we can ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible.

Bed was comfortable. Loved the free standing bath in the room. Breakfast views by the window was lovely. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Location location location was exceptional.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location, walking distance to most places.
The toilet was a tiny wet room, i.e., combined shower, toilet and sink. The sink was tiny (half-sized). The toilet is also in the wet room so if you want to use the toilet after someone has taken a shower, you have to step into the wet floor. Honestly, I couldn't believe that that was the bathroom in a four star hotel. The hotel doesn't have lifts, which is fine but the stairs at the top were very narrow and tall, which made it a difficult climb. My dog had trouble getting up and down.

Great location, lovely view from the room staff were great very comfortable beds.
The only negative is paying extra for parking and if you want a full breakfast it is an extra £9.50 which is not really a small supliment

Bathroom water and the courtesy biscuits in the room
What really upset me l paid for the breakfast package only to find out the breakfast was cereal, croissants,and fruit salad. I was told if l want a cooked breakfast l had to paid extra I was fuming breakfast is breakfast, l'm 64 been travelling the world since l was 24 a season traveller l have never paid for a breakfast package to then be told l have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast had l known that l would definitely not stayed at The Drakes Brighton. I paid for the cooked breakfast, it's not the money ,it's deceitful.

The colour scheme
For how much it was no fridge is disappointing. Should say when booking that room how noisy and loud night it would be. Dog friendly room was obviously cause of the stains on the carpet

Wonderful
Almost everything. The room was very comfortable and the stuff very kind.
The only issue was that the cold water tap on the sink wouldn't work, so we had to wash our hands in the bathtub. However, since we were only staying for one day, we decided not to bother the front desk and didn't report it.

Location on Seafront easy access to city. Offered parking ( chargeable). Offered breakfast ( chargeable).
Deluxe room (4) sea view with bath in window area. Large room but furnishing very shabby, worn and dirty. Carpet dirty. Walls and doors scuffed. Hairs in bath. No fridge - bottle milk very small left on a shelf. Biscuits ( unwrapped) although in a covered dish. Very disappointed, as booked for special occasion and not great value for money.
