Located on the seafront overlooking the Brighton Pier, Drakes is a 20 bedroom boutique hotel set in a pair of Regency townhouses in the heart of Brighton. The fully air-conditioned bedrooms have ‘Vi Spring’ beds adorned with Egyptian cotton sheets and goose and duck-down bedding, many of the rooms feature free standing baths looking out over the seafront. Positioned on Marine Parade, five minutes from the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Pier, Sea Lanes swimming, Soho House, the War Memorial and close to Kemptown Races, Drakes is the ideal place to explore the city, to enjoy the sea and beaches, to experience its famous social scene and to watch the glorious sunsets from our Cocktail Bar (or your bedroom) with a tipple or two. Due to the historic layout, the building does not have elevator access to the upper floors, if you require a lower or more accessible floor, please make this request upon booking so we can ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible.

The property is located on the sea front , with great view of Brighton beach , the staff where friendly and helpful throughout the stay, parking was accommodated, room was clean and modern with an old style twist to keep with the house period.
The room was very cold, despite setting the smart thermostat at 30 degree Celsius. And the shutters closed As a result of this it was uncomfortable. This may be contributed to having period windows and a very windy night, but id of still expected not to feel cold cold at night. I did not bring this up at the hotel on departure, i did not want to ruin our experience.

Great location, great room decoration, we loved the place and will definitely come back for a future Brighton visit

Breakfast was very good. The location was excellent.
Booking.com would not allow me to pay by card as it was an old card and I was unable to update it. On the first morning my bed was not made properly, the pillow had not been smoothed and the top pillows were left on the chair.

Beautiful cozy room with very comfortable bed
The photos are accurate, with one important exception: the room is on the ground floor, so the sea view also comes with a view of the parking area and passers-by at eye level. When you try to enjoy the sea view, you’ll also find curious people walking just about 5 metres from your windows and looking straight in. Something worth knowing before booking, especially if you value privacy.
