Disappointing
Great location, easy check in and check out.
The bathroom wasn’t clean and the shower and sink didn’t drain which made having a shower and using the sink challenging.

The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is its location. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. The hotel and rooms are extremely old, poorly maintained, and much worse than they appear in the photos. The pictures are highly misleading. The rooms are also very small and feel cramped. Our room was in poor condition. The floor was noticeably uneven and sloped. The door was damaged, crooked, and had an unbelievable gap of around 5 cm underneath it, allowing light, noise, and even views of the corridor from inside the room. Early one morning, maintenance work started right outside our room. Workers were sanding or grinding the wall next to the bed. Because of the large gap under the door, the noise came straight into the room and woke us up. Security was also a concern. The main entrance is supposedly protected by a code lock, but the locking mechanism was broken and the door would not actually lock. The shower was almost unusable. Hot water seemed to be heated on demand, the water pressure was extremely weak, and the water came out like a thin stream. My wife decided not to shower at all because of it. Apart from the location, this property is old, neglected, poorly maintained, and not accurately represented online. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

Very good location, close to the seaside and restaurants. The bathroom was nice with a good shower. Tea and coffee facilities were provided in the room. The hotel was quiet at night.
No parking, the nearest was very expensive. The floor was a bit weird.

Pleasant
The place was clean
It did not have a proper workspace or even a small desk for using my computer. I developed back pain from working uncomfortably. There was also no daily room service. No fridge as I the pictures. I stayed for 4 days and could keep food fresh.

Location was central. Checking in was online and then through series of codes and lock boxes.
We had a basement room that really needed a refurb. There were stains on the walls, floorboards were really worn, there was mould in the bathroom. There was a consistant high pitched whirring noise and the bathroom had a lingering smell. The floors weren't clean, and the room was very hot. All in all, not good.

Bed very comfortable Staff on phone changed rooms for me. Polite and helpful.
Problems accessing the room. Staff gave me another room which was quiet but was at the top of the house up four flights of extremely narrow, un level stairs. There was no fire escape. The floor in the bedroom was not level. The bathroom had a very strong smell of mild and damp. The room had a very strong smell of paint. Floor not well hoovered. Kettle not descaled or fit for use. Signage on property not the same as on website and phone number on signage was unintelligible. No fire escape and staircase not fit for purpose for any guest with even mild mobility issues.

Location was excellent.
We experienced a high difficulty gaining access to the rooms, and the staff were very rude when we called them for assistance. There were also no desks in the room which would have been nice.

Exceptional
We had a lovely stay here. The location is a two minute walk to the shops and also the beach and there is a grassy area outside for relaxing in the sun! The room was great, we had everything we needed and we had 3 very good nights sleep. The staff were very helpful and communicated well throughout.
We did have a little trouble getting the key out of the key box but I spoke with a member of staff on the phone who sorted it out immediately for me.
