I was a little nervous about staying above a pub, but it was so cute, comfortable, and quiet. It’s tucked away down a small side street, so you’re in the middle of everything, but still in a restful place. Kevin and Sue were so lovely and helpful! As was the wonderful woman who cleaned the room and replenished the breakfast foods daily. I will definitely return here on future Brighton trips!
Nothing at all. It was lovely.

Very cute. We loved it. Felt very English and homey. There’s a private entrance so you don’t have to go through the pub downstairs but it’s there if you want to. The guest room had a very comfortable bed, private bathroom, mini refrigerator, TV, and we were delighted to have fruit and croissants in the room the morning we arrived. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. I’d happily stay again.
No notes. Loved it.

Good
Lovely welcome from host, bed was very comfortable and large, and fresh breakfast in the room was very welcome. Perfect for what we needed
Can't really change the size of the room, but it is small! A full length mirror would have been welcomed (there was one in a cupboard but couldn't get to it). Also due to the heat the saniflo toilet did smell a bit - but again can't be helped.

Very Good
Cosy Pub, really nice welcome and really easy to check in. Easy to find and the most amazing hanging baskets ! Tons to see/do/drink in a few steps away. A little bit of everything here.
Nothing to dislike. Exactly as stated in the blurb. Great pub & lovely people. Basic room. A fry up would’ve been a cherry on the cake but we knew no food served so - no complaints for the pub. I stupidly left ma shirt in the room and Sue very kindly posting to me. This bit is difficult as it’s not the pubs fault and definitely is not a reflection on The Bow Street Runner. - it’s Brightons issue. Parking! A complete mare as every single space is permit only. We drove round for a bit but zero. Decided to just use the parking underground on the front. It was just nearest. Saturday 3pm to Sunday 10am was £34.50 !

Welcoming and location. Price was very Reasonable. Warm and very quiet
Parking was very expensive. That’s more to do with Brighton than the venue. Beyond their control

The bedrooms were upstairs in a small local pub. You could hear no noise in the evening from the pub. Bedroom on suite bed very comfortable. Continental breakfast supplied to be eaten in bedroom more than enough.
Everything was as we wanted. Great location able to walk easily into Brighton

Very Good
Lovely little room, very good location, bar downstairs. Breakfast was provided in the room daily, yogurt, fruit, milk, cereals, croissant, water, plus tea and coffee facilities. The room was on the small side but we knew that by reading the description before booking. The host was very kind. Clean and cosy room, comfy bed. Bus-stop to Brighton citycenter is very close and the room is just a few minutes walk from a lot of restaurants, shops, and supermarkets.
We checked the room description and everything was true to the description so no problems at all.

This was a great little pub to stay in during my time in Brighton. Staff and patrons were incredible friendly, offering to help get bags upstairs. It’s about a 25 minute walk from the station and a 20ish minute walk to the pier. The room was incredibly clean, quiet and well priced, with a really good range of continental breakfast items stocked each day. I am very happy with my decision to stay at Bow Street Runner and would recommend it to anyone else heading to Brighton.
No actual dislikes but some things to be mindful of - there are a couple of flights of stairs, so if you have any mobility issues this is not the room for you. The shower head is waterfall style - a shower cap is provided if needed, but I would also recommend bringing your own if you don’t want your hair to get wet.
