We requested a ground floor room and sadly they didn't have one so were happy to go on first floor, we looked at the room we decided to book and to be honest it looked pretty good ,
on arrival we collected our keys from Calypso greeted by a very pleasant man,
Got to topaz and wow we should have known what to expect by the filthy door?
We have a ground floor room!! Brilliant we entered to find we had an adjoining room which meant it slept six people,
Very spacious and lovely new beds, pillows, etc. Which were extremely comfortable.
fantastic location and that is where it ends, this hotel is like faulty towers, The dining room has been renovated into two ensuite bedrooms which has literally been thrown together in no time and boy can you tell,
Light switch hanging off the wall door handle hanging off, step out of bathroom has a small lip which is dangerous as you could easily trip. Hot and cold taps are the wrong way around, Deco is appalling needs new ceilings as they look like they are going to fall in, one wardrobe was actually standing upside down with no hanging rails and no coat hangers, The Curtains do not close.

The manager came to see us, he was very pleasant and got a couple of snagging jobs which we felt were dangerous, (Sharp edges in bathrooms) for our stay kind of sorted, after whoever sorted a couple of jobs left our room they left the door wide open and we were not at the property
He offered to move us and also offered a free drink at Calypso hotel, we declined moving as we were all unpacked and had plans so did not have time, The doors in this hotel bang all night and you can literally hear everything, if you are looking at booking the topaz Go on trip advisor and read the reviews that will help you decide not to come here

Awful experience, the room was unclean, and the toilet flush did not work. I reported this several times, but no action was taken.
Please be careful; never choose this hotel. It was like hell.

The price was cheap. The location was good. I found the bed comfortable
There were no toiletries as stated only a tiny bar of soap.. there was a lamp in the bedside which couldn't be used as there was no socket. The bathroom had other people's hair on the door and I felt it wasn't clean. The light switch didn't look clean. There was no lounge as stated. No staff were available at topaz. You booked in with their other hotel further down the road.. doors were dirty
