Some group members had large rooms with sitting area, separate bedrooms and others basic double room, even though everyboday had paid the same amount, 2 members requested to be moved as double bedroom had bad musty smell, net curtains were black with dirt and ceiling was cracked where water had been seeping in, food was very basic and it was like a cattle market with very little staff to take of everyone in dining room. Hotel in need of refurbishment very dated, staff on reception very helpfull.

I really liked the outside of the hotel and the way it was situated — it had a lovely setting and was easy to find. The location was convenient
Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. When we arrived, there was an unpleasant smell in our room. The windows had been left open, so I can only assume they were hoping it would have gone before we arrived. I reported it to reception, and housekeeping came to check. They confirmed there was a smell but couldn’t identify the source.
There were no other family rooms available, so we had to stay in the same room. The cleanliness of both the bathroom and the room itself was not acceptable, and on the first night when I tried to have a shower, it actually came off the wall.
Overall, the stay did not reflect the price charged through Booking.com, and I left feeling very disappointed.

The departure.
No parking for my car. Pouring with rain (not The Savoy's fault), had to park on the street and walk back. Apparently, not enough parking spaces for the number of rooms.
The room (box really) was stifling hot with no visible heat source. Opening the small window onto a blank wall did not help.
The toilet tank buttons did not work. I had to use a small screwdriver (luckily, I had one) to pry them into position so the water would not constantly run, and the toilet could be flushed.
No dinner choices really, you either paid the set fee, or you didn't eat, even if you only wanted a bowl of soup.
The bed faced at right angle to the TV's location, so you had to turn your head to the right in order to see the television when sitting in bed.
The bathroom was obviously a later addition to the room and involved steps not only into the bathroom itself but up to the bath and the toilet too.
The shower was an attachment to the faucets and didn't stay in position when turned on.

The room was as good as I had expected. I have stayed in other Britannia Hotels in the past and I have to say this was perhaps the bast one.
The single bed in the room I had reserved was not particularly comfortable. It was too close to the solid wall.

Booking the savoy but being moved to another hotel the grand as no more family rooms, however they accepted my booking for a family room at the savoy.

Staff were lovely.
Breakfast was very good
The bed in our room was poor quality, hard and extremely uncomfortable. Bed squeaked every time you moved. Bath towels were that thin you could put a finger through them.

Disappointing
Location was great, tram just outside and every 10 mins,
But town in walking distance along the promenade,
Room had extra holes in walls that hadn't been covered up,
Taps had tops missing,
Part of the wall you could see the plaster board,
Room not clean- children's toys left under bed, half eaten chocolate under a bed, colouring in behind one of the units,
We was there for 4 nights and no one came to clean the room, or ask if we needed new towels,
Bed very hard, pillow very stiff.
Only given one pillow each.
Shower very old,
Personal preference but was given a rubber bath mat, this wasn't cleaned, and I don't think it's hygienic to have a shower curtain where you can't wash this.
The whole room needed painting and a better upkeep
We had breakfast once and this was terrible, over priced, over cooked, eggs were like rubber, sausages tasted very budget, hash brown's not cooked properly, beans tasted re heated, we didn't eat in hotel after this time.
Staff not very helpful- when I asked for an upgrade I was told they were full.
One tiny lift and we were out on the top floor, with 2 small children, we walked up and down the stairs more than we managed to get the lift.
Blackpool itself was great but I should have stayed somewhere else.

It was absolutely appalling. I asked after 3 days when somebody's going to come into my room and have some new towels. All I got from the guy on reception when you leave if you want towel come and see me.
Went down for breakfast one morning. Paid the 12.99 it was absolutely disgusting. Burnt sausage bacon like cardboard eggs way way way overcooked. I just ended up having a couple of pieces of toast and marmalade made a complaint at reception. All I got was over. Sorry about that. I will never book with Britannia hotels again as most of their hotels have immigrants in now.
