Great location.The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and there was bingo and a singer which created a nice atmosphere in the evening
The lift would only take 2 people and took a long time and the stairs were very steep.I couldnt manage them easily due to a recent injury. the bed was not comfortable and the cupboard in the small corner room we were in was not sturdy atall so when opened it started to tip over. there was also a dirt mark on the bottom of the sheet and the windows had alot of condensation inside the double glazing. I dont feel it was good value for money staying in such a small room for 80 pounds for one night but i was told it is under new management so they might have new plans for the hotel.The other room that we booked was a bit bigger and had better furniture.

Rooms and public areas clean and tidy. Staff very good.
Catering very poor, breakfast poor quality cheap ingredients and overcooked. Booked in for dinner on a pre-order only to be told at dinner time they didn't have enough beef, asked by the server did we won't roast pork which we said no. Astounded to be asked if we wanted a plate of veg and potatoes. Duty manager apologised and gave us a contribution to dinner elsewhere. You really shouldn't "run out" of items when dinner is on a pre-order. Had booked via Caledonian Travel for New Year but going to cancel now!

Good room..room service everyday..heating on when it turned cold..plenty hot water..entertainment 2 nights out of 3 that I stayed..hotel seemed to be run in a relaxed easy going manner which reflected well with the clientele

The tram was at the bottom of the street easy to travel around
Went into bedroom, very tiny room ,when coming out of bed put one foot down on the floor u were right into the wall, bits lying on bathroom floor, radiator dirty ,didn't use shower, only ordered 2 pieces of bacon for breakfast to get 8 small burnt ends of bacon ,disgusting also waited ages to get served and tea was cold asked for more hot tea and still waiting on it , I complained to young boy who said to me ,I know its been some morning ,will never stay again and would not reccomend this hotel

Location
Food could be better. The lift needs servicing. Our mattress and duvet needed replacing. Bathroom tap loose. Radiator was boiling hot and regulator broken. No shelving in the shower. No paper towels or hand sanitizer in the concert room Gents toilet ( Notified staff. The following day still empty).
In general the hotel needs refurbishing throughout. Past manager neglected it. We have stayed here a few times in the past.

Tram stop across the road was handy but the location was too far out , not much near by. Entertainment not too bad , different singer every night and bingo, wifi in room quite good but didnt work in lounge. That was about it .
Hotel is not in the best location too far out from everything , nearest pub etc was about 10 minute walk. Run down and needs a good revamp. No TV in lounge. Bathoom was tiny as was the shower , if your on the large side you wldnt fit in it ! Some one was smoking in their room , whole corridor on 1st floor was stinking , no manager around but told the barman. Breakfast could be better , myself and my mum were put at the end of a cramped table of 4 men, no table of our own. Tea was cold , toast was hardly toasted and cooked breakfast wasnt hot ! Was obviously pre plated. Would not return.
