The bathroom was tiny, the fire alarm kept going Off especally early morning. stated bar, was never open. £ towels for a two night stay. only £ tea bags over two days and no one around to ask for anything.

Very Good
The room wasn’t anything extraordinary (wasn’t expecting it to be) it was nice had a tv, kettle, coffee, shampoo ect, lamps above the beds. Was a little nervous based of other reviews and as it was very cheap (on a budget) but for the price there was nothing to complain about! :)) (we was in room 19)
The window sill could do with a little dusting but everything else was great

Poor
Only thing to like was the location.
Very tired decor. There was a dip in the floorboard in the room and we both nearly fell down it several times. Net curtains hanging down and the room was very cold, no heating on. Even the toilet pan was slightly soiled so had clearly not been cleaned properly.
Breakfast took forever on the first day and the beans were almost cold.
2nd day breakfast room was supposed to open at 9am. It was past this when the door eventually opened. The water urn wasn’t hot enough to make a cup of tea and didn’t come to the boil for half an hr later. Although we ordered our breakfast at 09:10am it took the guy over half an hr before it was served up. Again virtually cold beans and also cold mushrooms.
It was very much like he couldn’t be bothered. Orange juice was not replenished from the day before and the cereal spillage from the previous day was still on the counter.
The bar was supposed to be open from 6pm, on our 2nd day it was still shut at 6:45pm.

Very Poor
There was very little to like about our stay
Firstly on arrival we had to wait in a dark empty bar room with no refreshments on offer for around 30mins for our room to be ready despite being told by telephone twice it would be 5 mins, on seeing the room it was adequate although very little luxury, extremely basic, staff struggled with English no information given on departure or breakfast etc, was charged £10 to park on the carpark outside. When we arrived home from our evening late we found 2/4 beds were broken leading to very uncomfortable and disturbing nights sleep, blood on the wall in the main lounge and also on one of the single bed pillows. Every floorboard seemed to squeak and there were cables running under the carpet which left raised bumps as trip hazard and a hole in the floor which was only protected by carpet covered over but easily flexed when stood on, and as one of our party is severely disabled with mobility issues this was very dangerous!

Price ok although I wished I’d paid more to stay elsewhere, location ok away from the pubs.
Mattress very uncomfortable springs sticking into my back so had to sleep on top of pillows. Smell in the room maybe from previous smoking, hole in the floor covered by carpet could have easily injured myself. Radiator on and unable to turn it down so had to sleep with window open all night and therefore had outside noise to contend with.

Good area to stay. Not far from promenade or town centre.
Needs a bit of modernisation. But was clean and acceptable.

Thought the beds were quite comfortable.
Owner was friendly and welcoming. A younger gentleman took us up to our room and was very nice and polite. He was also very helpful at breakfast and checkout with excellent customer service. He let us leave our car parked at the back for a few hours after checkout which was helpful.
Very dated. Looks ok from outside but once we entered I was very disappointed. Very old fashioned decor, carpets were ancient, curtains were stained, there was a smell downstairs and on the landings but not particularly in the room. The room floor had holes in, covered over by carpet which was rather dangerous especially with kids. Wardrobes and drawers were unsteady and wonky. Right next door to a mental health care home with noisy residents, our room backed right onto their outdoor area. A woman was coughing her guts up outside while smoking. There were also people arguing during the night.

leaving.
first day in the room noticed a very large stain on the carpet. shower was up and down in temp not once has anyone been in to change bins or replace towels with clean ones yet in the bathroom it states if you want your towels cleaned to leave them in the shower which we had done everyday before going out. very uncomfortable beds could feel every spring as soon as you walk into the hotel the carpet is soaked as the ceiling is leaking and looks like it's been that way for awhile. The manager was lovely but will not be returning stayed for 4 days!
