Lovely hotel with stunning decor
Bit disappointed in bedroom. Bathroom very small and very noisy fan in the room. Quite a lot of dirt round bath taps Disappointed at bar closing early. Out at night and when we got. Back to hotel disappointed to hear it was closing when we would have liked a small drink before heading to bedroom and it was only 11pm.

Bit of a wait for check in but this was more due to people booking in without pre filling online information than the hotel staff. Beautiful building but a little tired. Staff generally very friendly and helpful especially the maintenance guy who took the time to give us a little bit of the history of the hotel. Claire on reception was very helpful when checking out and when we purchased some items from the display cabinets.
The room initially smelled of chips but this was due to the window being open. Only one member of staff who "greeted" us for breakfast on the first day, shoed us to a table them just turned and walked away without explaining that it was full buffet service and that we would have to get our own tea/coffee. Main lift being out of order was a little inconvenient.

I love the history of the Hotel. The staff are amazing and a big shout out for Nikki on the front desk. Very helpful and very polite. I have been in the service business for 40 years. Including 6 years with Carnival Cruises and 20 years working in a Las Vegas Casino so I know good customer care and Nikki provided that.

Too hard . Standards slipping - staff do their best - the building is hanging on
Rooms not that clean - dated bathroom but hot water for sure . No plug sockets near bed . Just a grand old lady getting older sadly

Good location and bed was comfy
Didn’t like the fact you had to wait a long time at reception when wanting something, black mold on ceiling outside my room door. Lifts were slow and one broken a couple of times had to walk down stairs after a knee operation isn’t good.

The pool was under renovation, but what they dont tell you on the website that it has been closed since covid- 7 yrs. Very misleading.
