Disappointing
Location is excellent, opposite north pier and a short walk to central where the tower is, shopping centre, coral island
Very very tired, our double sea view room needed a lick of paint, curtains were hanging off, sink wouldn’t drain, no chair in room only a table, room not the cleanest, we were upgraded to a superior as our tv wasn’t working which was much better with 3 chairs and a lot cleaner The security doors to corridors( access with room key) weren’t working so anyone could walk in

Poor
The receptionist was very pleasant and welcoming upon checking in.
As we walked in to our room I nearly fell over "Henry" the hoover just left in the middle of the floor behind the door!
The mattress was very thin and hard. There was mould on the ceiling in the bathroom above the shower head, and the grouting was orangey/black in the corners and along the bottom in the shower, the shower curtain had a big gap at the bottom to the tray so if you did have a shower the water would be all over the floor, the shower gel holder was broken so the "complementary" shower gel bottle was just on top of the shower taps. The carpet was grotty!!
The entrance to the hotel as you come in was run down and a hole in the wall, the stairs going up to reception/rooms was really dirty and all stained and there was a smell to the stairwell!.

Disappointing
Location is great, Bed is comfortable. In-room facilities are ok.
Pictures aren’t anything like advertised, confusing entry. Upon arrival the place had a very strong damp, mould smell from reception all the way to the room. Hallway ceiling shows this. Bin broken and rusted, Toilet paper stuffed into the air vent in shower. Bathroom door plastered over from what looked like a few holes from punching or kicking it. A lot of hairs on the bed. Super noisy street at night (Especially staying on the weekend) which is not the hotels fault but something to consider before booking.

Very Poor
Location, message contact was good, reception guy, early check in, clean white sheets, luggage storage.
We thought we would give this hotel a try because of the location and price we wanted to pay. The corridors smelt, this was expected, but our room 309 smelt too strongly of stale sick which made us want to vomit. We opened the window and stayed out all day till late evening, we really didn't want to go back. We slept with the window open and it was freezing. Because of this our score is nil.
Also, I wouldn't feel safe alone. The entrance/lift is on the basement floor, (looks very rough and isolated) and the small reception is on the 1st floor. We didn't need the key code to get in at night, we followed other guests in. Sorry but we don't recommend.

Poor
Nothing at all.
When we first arrived and checked in, having entered the room, the first thing I noticed was carpets pulled up from the skirting boards. Thick layers of dust in the obvious places that should be included in your every day clean. There were finger print, wipe marks all over the walls, which looked like someone had wiped their makeup on. The bedside table had a white creamy residue that hadn't been wiped off. The worst part was my bedding, the pillow cases has brown marks on which you could see from a distance so how the cleaner didn't see this I don't know. The pillows themself are all stained and yellow as if they are very old. Within minutes of being in the room, I had to go down to reception to make the aware. They do offer to move us room but it sounds like all rooms were the same. I asked instead of moving can they just clean the room like they should have done in the first place. Upon returning you could smell they had "cleaned" the room but still not up to the standards they should be doing. I would never stay here again.
