Very peculiar smell
Room was tiny and was advertised as a large double room so i couldn’t imagine what the small room was like
Staff made us feel very uncomfortable
Bathroom was mouldy
Bed was full of stains
Wardrobe was falling apart
No batteries in tv remote
Tv was tiny
Window had to be left open all day and night to try and shift smell.
Unhygienic
Hairs all over the carpet
Bedroom lock was faulty so no belongings could be left in room meaning we had to travel round with them all day.
Hotel hard to locate as it’s sign says it’s an indian takeaway

Arrived at the property with my 8 year old child , soon as I got outside I thought omg what a dump. I then went inside and something just didnt feel right , you wouldn’t let a dog stay there . I was then showed to a room where you couldn’t see the carpet for dog hair . There was no running water and the place stunk (remember I have an 8 year old child with me expected to stay here) I went downstairs and asked the owner if it was a wind up and how could he expect me to stay there with a child. To my horror he then informed me the place was not open for business. To my disbelief it is still available to book on booking.com. Please do not book as I would not want any other family to experience the horror I had. I missed a whole day of my son’s short holiday as I had to stay in a hotel the other side of town (no where near the attractions that I had booked for my son) Still haven’t had a response from booking.com which is beyond belief

It's a shame as this hotel is situated in an ideal location for south shore and local transport. Although very cheap the owner is letting it run down staff were friendly but hotel is not clean breakfast was good would I stay again NO I WOULD NOT

The place was filthy everywhere the walls the carpets all over the house have probably been down for 10 years or more.the carpet in my room was all cut up . There was no chair's it was also dangerous because the kettle was in a tiny space right next to a double socket I've never stayed any were that bad and I would never go back again thee whole house needs ripping out

Everything the rooms smelt run down the locks on doors were terrible you wouldn’t leave anything valuable in there was shocking didn’t cater for children age of 3 ? No bed in our double room rooms are small carpet needs cleaning quite shabby the staff were lovely tho

How accurate the previous reviews were on how this hotel should not be operating due to multiple issues.
There was no designated check in area so we stood in a restaurant to check in with a host who was blunt and unfriendly. We were staying on the top floor room facing the road. When we entered, the first smell to hit us was an overwhelming scent of pet urine and damp/mold. Multiple spots in the room had been covered to try and hide the mold/damp (see photos) the smell was so overwhelming that we felt it on our lungs and it infiltrated our luggage making our clothes reek eventhough we hadn't unpacked. Aside from the smell, the room was filty. The carpets were disgusting so had clearly not been hoovered, the bed sheets were stained in multiple places, there was also alot of hair in the beds (pet and people) which makes me believe they were not changed or washed from the previous guests. The bunk bed is also a health and safety hazard with sharp screws hanging out which is dangerous to children who might be staying here. There was no wardrobe to hang items, and the chest of drawers were filthy with mud, hair, dust, and dirt. The windows were also sopping wet with condensation, which has caused the net curtains and blind to become moldy. The bathroom was no better, I've seen public toilets that have been cleaner. There was fecal matter and pubic hair caked on the skirting boards as well as a mystery stain on a skirting board, which we suspect was pet urine. The toilet seat also needs replacing as the vinyl covering has peeled off, meaning exposed porous wood is in contact with urine and feces, which is extremely unhygienic. Our host said they would be in our room in 30 mins to "fit a TV" eventhough they had all day, so we waited to express our issues but they didn't show up, we tried to find them later but no check in desk made this impossible. We left with our luggage and booked a hotel up the road. I've tried to contact OYO after messaging the host on booking.com but haven't had a reply.
