Arrived at the property to find the signage still for Hawkes Hotel and no mention of the Dora Hotel

After knocking on the door for 20 minutes, someone eventually answered. The phone number for the hotel provided was invalid and not in service.
The gentleman who showed us in originally said he was the cleaner, living at the hotel, renovating it, and eventually a guest like us. All in the space of 90 minutes whilst we waited for someone to actually let us into a room. However, he knew the manager and was accessing all the rooms.
The same man said our room (14) wasn't ready but showed us Room 2 whoch was full of mould and the entire bottom floor had been flooded. This obviously wasn't appropriate for a family. He told us there had been a flood and showed us Room 1 just so we could see the extent and why there was mould in Room 2. It was horrific and straight out of a 3rd world country.
He then took us downstairs and said I shouldn't show you behind the bar (kitchen) proceeded to anyway. This room hadn't been used for well over a year and was derelict, full of mould and dust.
90 minutes now, after actually getting into the hotel, we were shown to Room 14 on the top floor. The room had no mattress on a double bed, which had burn marks on the bed sheets. The room was also slightly mouldy and stank of it, as did the entire hotel (no surprise considering what we had been shown on floors below). This had no toilet paper. Also, no surprise was piecing everything together he was the cleaner, and as he had previously mentioned, the room wasn't ready. The room had no hot water or heating either.
Obviously, we decided to cut our losses and didn't stay.
The Hotel, as you would expect as its a scam, didn't refund the monies paid. It was cheap, so this wasn't an issue.

I can’t say I likes anything about the property I felt unsafe from the moment I arrived
The worst part would of had to of been when we got locked out of the hotel completely as the front door code system wasn’t fully charged and it died

The property cancelled in the day of my booking just hours before my expected arrival. It ruined a my weekend and I had to drive 2 hours home late at night. Also I am still waiting for a refund 2 days later. Very unhappy

This hotel it's 10 out of 10 for this price range unlikely you can get better on this price tug , I have tried them all and I keep coming back to this one .so if you want a clean bed and a nice shower most rooms are spacious and some have the seaview and some with balcony ! There is always free parking in the seafront too.
Can't fault the hotel it for anything! no for the money I paid anyway .

Absolutely nothing we didn't even get to see our rooms since they canceled our booking before we even arrived
ATTENTION AVOID THIS HOTEL FOR THE LOVE OF GOD it is a absolute scam we got to the hotel in which it wasn't even the same name and at the reception we were told by the most unprofessional worker that our reservation was canceled by them and we were not notified and our payment for the hotel was not refunded at all not a single penny by either booking or this shady hotel we made the mistake of not reading the reviews before we booked so do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel like your life depends on it it's shady it's a scam and a fraud lost over 120 pound and got nothing back worst purchase I have ever made
