Fair
Convenient for a group of us to stay at same location to celebrate a 90th birthday.
Good selection of breakfast items and starters.
Hotel and bedrooms were very hot as only aircon was in the bar area. Bedrooms desperately need aircon, not even fans available in rooms to compensate for lack of aircon.
Bathroom was very cramped, wall tiles around shower were grubby and grouting is stained. Towels were thin, small and cheap so got waterlogged quickly, don't fit around you easily and not a quality feel to them. Advise taking your own towels!
Coffee tasted burnt and bitter and orange juice machine could also do with a clean as juice tasted unpleasant.
Minimal vegetarian or vegan options so easier to just have more of the starters, but 3 days of eating same food becomes boring.
It's blackpool so expect it to be noisy day and night. However from the cliffs hotel there a good gentle walk north along the promenade away from the crowds and pier activities.

Poor
The breakfast
The room. We paid for a twin room with sea view. There was only one chair to sit on which was an upright hard back which obviously you would expect two chairs in a twin room. The room wasn’t cleaned at all and we did stay for 3 nights so you would expect at least one clean and we had to make our own beds we were disappointed to say the least

Good
The best thing about this hotel was the value for money. I stayed there with my 9 year old son for 3 nights on a half board basis. The food was good and the options for breakfast and dinner were plentiful. The health spa was also very good and lots of amenities for kids including a games room and table tennis table. From the front of the hotel there was a very regular tram service which could take you into the main areas in about 10 minutes and a tram day pass worked out at £5 per person, unlimited.
The hotel is a little unusual and the decor has a lot to be desired. After being there a day or two you look beyond that and see a well run property with good facilities. Much of the hotel doesn't seem to have been substantially changed since the 60s, especially when you leave the lobby and venture upstairs. The room was tiny which didn't worry us but had we been staying for longer or had more luggage it may have been an issue.

Pleasant
Good location , friendly staff , good breakfast lots of choice . Kids loved the entertainment .
£5 for 2 pints of blackcurrant juice and water seems excessive ! Bad smell on floor 2 landing, areas very tired . Extractor outside room very noisy with constant food smells entering the room .
Thank you for your information!
