The hotel occupies a great location in the centre of the city, 5 minutes walk from the city hall, shops and pubs. The room was relatively large and was clean, warm, quiet, and comfortable. Communication from the hotel was good and the staff were friendly and helpful and organised a discount for the car oark we used. We were only staying overnight, so just needed somewhere to sleep and the hotel was ideal for what we wanted. As a result, we would stay again.
We didn't encounter many of the issues raised by other reviewers. I did, however, do the online check-in, but on arriving at the hotel we still had to queue for around 20 minutes to collect the keycards, as there was only one person working the reception desk. I therefore fail to see the point or value of online check-in for either the customers or the staff.

Restaurant and Bar were fine. Downstairs was very clean and worthy of 4*

The room I was in was far below a 4* standard.
Bulb missing from lamp. Carpet stained, curtains stained.
Sugar in the tea making facility open. One of the UHT Milk pods was expired and congealed.
There was running water noise from the bathroom all night.
The shower was in the bath and the shower head couldn't be manoeuvred and it took ages to heat up.

Great location with easy access to and from the city airport by bus.. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. All very clean and tidy. Rooms were a good size and had everything you would need for a short stay.
The hotel was very warm with radiators on at all times. The breakfast was very bland. There was plenty of it but was mostly tasteless.

A minor gripe: reported a problem with TV remote control which was not working; Reception agreed for the maintenance team to check it; nothing happened so could not watch TV during my two night stay.
