Pleasant
Staff were lovely, very pleasant and helpful. Beds were comfortable and rooms were a good temperature. Water pressure in the shower was very good. Well located, a 10 minute walk into the centre of the city. Parking in the paid car park behind the hotel was easy.
Carpets were quite stained in the room. The bathroom wasn't very well cleaned and the paint on the bathroom door was lifting/chipping off a bit. It was fine but for the Clayton, we expected a higher standard. The room was quite dated and in need of refreshing, especially the bathroom. The hot water took a long time to reach the bathroom taps, had to run it for at least a couple of minutes before it got warm which is quite wasteful if this is done across all rooms at the hotel. There was a towel hook on the back of the bathroom door for bath towels but nowhere to hang hand towels to dry near the sink.

Breakfast was good, lots of variety. Room was a nice size and clean.
Staff didn't seem very helpful, or interested in helping. Music from nearby venues audible in room through evening.

Great location and a quiet, comfortable stay - no frills and did what we needed for a wedding in the local area.
Car parking was a little confusing

Very Good
Beds were very comfortable,
Room was spacious.
We didn't meet our maid, but the other maid on the floor was incredible!!!
Location was great!
The room was too warm. Changing the thermostat didn't help.
Breakfast was good, but after the 3rd day, it got a little boring, plus very little selection.
We didn't realize until after breakfast on our last day, that we could have ordered other items that wasn't in the buffet, like poached, or over easy eggs.

Disappointing
Nothing
There is no proper on-site car park, so you have to park quite far from the hotel. The parking costs £19.50 per night, and although they give you a token saying £7 will be deducted, this was not communicated clearly at all. In the end, it means extra cost and extra walking, which was very inconvenient.
I had also sent an inquiry about breakfast 3 days before arrival, but received no response. Because of that, I had to book breakfast separately. Ironically, they only replied after I had already returned from the hotel.
The room cleanliness was also not up to standard.
Another major issue was with the electrics in the room. When we tried to use a hair dryer, all the switches stopped working. When we complained to reception, someone came and told us not to use too many appliances because it would trip the MCB. That is simply not acceptable for a hotel room.
Overall, the stay was poorly managed and disappointing.

Wonderful
The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and we had a lovely view from the 6th floor.
I ordered a pint of beer at the bar for my partner's birthday and the rim of the glass was covered in pink lipstick. My partner didn't want me to complain, so we left and went to another bar.

Good
The hotel is clearly in need of renovation, similar to other hotels of this brand. The bathroom design is poor — water from the shower leaks onto the floor, leaving it completely wet. The restaurant ceilings are cracked and look worn out. Considering the very high prices, the overall condition does not match expectations.
Great central location, very convenient for exploring the city. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay. ?

We never ate in the hotel, but all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is situated in a great location close to bars and restaurants in the city centre.
Nothing really.

Pleasant
The rooms were spacious and the beds were super comfy. Really great location also
TVs were old, skirting board was falling apart, staff barged into our room one morning after repeated yelling to not enter and that we did not want the room serviced. Front desk refused a late check out saying the hotel was fully booked even though we could rebook to stay another night if we wanted to which didn’t make any sense. Hotel is lovely but I’d just keep to yourself as the staff aren’t the friendliest

I like the location l, only a 5 minute walk to City Hall.
I didn’t like that the window in my room didn’t close fully allowing a lot of road noise in.

Wonderful
Close to where I wanted to be
The use the screen to check in didn’t seem very personal… like interacting with the front desk if I have questions when I check in… I guess that screen would good for off hours when it’s hard to staff
