Good location. Room was clean. Shower has great water pressure.
The bar has no atmosphere. Breakfast was expensive. Hand rail on main access ramp was dirty.

Poor
The reception area is very elegant and gives a great first impression. There is also a paid car park on the street behind the hotel, which costs £10 for 24 hours if you ask reception for the discount code.
The price was very high for what we expected. Our room was on the third floor, but the view was of a very unattractive inner courtyard. We were also greeted by a huge spider in the room. The bathroom definitely needs a complete renovation: it felt very dated, with a lot of mould and old, worn-out taps and fittings. Overall, the room did not meet our expectations for a hotel at this price point.

Very Poor
The bed was comfortable.
Our stay at the Clayton left a lot to be desired. Saying this hotel needs an update and a good clean is an understatement. The pillows were hard and the pillowcases were dirty. There were signs of lockers and tables falling apart. The net curtains needed a washing. The carpet had numerous stains as did the walls. The bathroom wasn't clean and the towels weren't much better. The staff at reception were not welcoming and didn't even enquire how our stay was. The bar man give me numerous dirty glasses and I ended up having to clean the glass myself before use. The breakfast was mediocre at best. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Oh and the bar prices were just over the top expensive.

Nice staff and a great location within the city centre and near the central station! Great breakfast too and I have never before seen staff so zesty to timely replenish the breakfast offerings! The room was spacious and had a bathtub. The bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom could really use refurnishing. The door was so scratchy, it seemed to have been there for 30-40 years at least. The bathtub and sink probably exceed 20 years too, and parts of the bathroom were simply dilapidated. The room itself was in a better state than the bathroom, but quite outdated too. The carpet was very worn-out in the most used areas. Nevertheless a comfortable room.

Pleasant
Excellent location. You can walk to the city center in 5 minutes. There are many cafes and restaurants nearby. Unfortunatly that only one thing was good during the state.
To be honest for this price you expecting at least clean room and working facilities, unfortunatly it was not our experience. Room was dusty, dust was on table lamp, on safe on upper lights. Window was really dirty. Sights of mold in bathroom. There was a problem with safe in the room, batteries went dead in one day, we asked to change them 3 times, and only on the next day someone came and fixed it.
