Fair
The room had a decent bed, which was good. It also had quite a nice window with an amazing view of the city. The fact that there was a private bathroom was also good. I would say it was fair in terms of providing the absolute minimum for a one-night stay, but the bad things sort of outweigh this assessment.
The room, apart from the bed, had nothing else. The bathroom was also bad. The drain seemed not to be working properly. The window, while offering a nice view, also let in a lot of noise from a local pub throughout the night. The purpose of the stay was to simply provide a little rest; we were not looking for anything fancy. But I am afraid I wouldn't recommend the room to anyone.

Very Poor
Don’t come, it’s a health hazard. The rooms are dirty, sheets are stained, and you’ll end up searching for another place either way… Cheap, yes, but is it worth it getting an infection? Or sleeping with bugs in the bed? This is how we found the room, turned apart (first picture). For the second room they offered it was stained, contains bird facals on the inside, and was overall very dirty

Very Poor
Convenient and the price
Hair in the shower and on the walls, dirty floor, duvets were filthy, pillows too flat, no fan for circulation, towels cost way too much

Pleasant
Great location, helpful and friendly staff! Very walkable to Grand Central station or Botanic station, as well as the Cathedral Quarter. The room had a sink and mirror (no soap). Lots of good food nearby, and the cafe next door is great. There was also a full kitchen.
There were only two outlets for four people and they were far from the beds. The beds were just bunks without privacy curtains, unlike most hostels these days. There was little room for storage in the room. It costs 3£ to store your bag before check-in or after check-out and another charge to rent a towel (card only). The bedsheets were stained, the bathrooms/toilets didn't feel clean, and sometimes didn't have toilet paper or soap.

Poor
Nothing other then the room I stayed in was fine
Plenty - dirty, poor maintenance, toilets weren't clean, not even salt was available in the kitchen, paper towel in the kitchen ran out completely, kitchen was in a poor state. There's plenty not to like and very little to like unfortunately

The location was amazing. The staff was friendly that is also good to have a cafe inside it
There is no plug around the beds to charge my phone - there should be one for each bed the reception room closes early ( you can extend it up to 1:00 am

Good
The International Youth Hostel in Belfast is a boon for anyone who wants to visit the city or to use it as a resting place away from the hustle and bustle of life. The kitchen is first class with an indoors balcony dining area. The small TV Room is a bonus which includes books to read. The rooms are adequate. The shover rooms are spacious and comfortable and the central heating system provides constant hot water. The staff is kind and helpful. At night a staff member is always there on the watch. This hostel is very quiet both day and night.
The Belfast International Youth Hostel’s prices vary during winter months and some weekdays prices are more affordable than Saturdays, summer months and during special event days in the City. Extra pillows would be nice.

Excellent location. Friendly staff. Good kitchen facilities.
Had to ask for toilet papers as they did not replace them. No mirrors in bathrooms. They did not replace tea and coffee.
