The apartments are outdated with no AC
The apartments are far from the hotel and in the city so its very noisy and hard to sleep

Reception people were very rude during check in process. They were insisting i have to pay the money then only we will give you the room. I had issue with my card. I have to login and tell my bank then i could pay. They need to change the attitude.

Disappointing
The hotel is centrally located but it has not been properly renovated. It needs a thorough redo especially on the floors, curtains. The name and price are too big for the services delivered.
There is a stench of old floors, which cannot be removed by mere washing and cleaning, but by renovation. I was meant to be there for a week, but I had to leave the next day, and I found a cheaper and better renovated property in the neighbourhood.

Location is great. One can walk anywhere. It is very safe. Breakfast is good. Caters for all creeds. But there is room for improvement. The rooms are clean and spacious for a 100 year old hotel.
The towels are clean but could use an overhaul. Depending on the room one gets, it can be noisy especially in the weekend when there is activity at the Sheraton Hotel across the road, otherwise the hotel itself is quiet,

I stay at the Speke whenever in Kampala. I love the whole atmosphere . Get the room I request. Which is big and comfortable and quiet Staff excellent just very Ghost. Breakfast OK this time

Almost everything. I stay there every time I am in Kampala. Suits me well. Location, staff room. They give me the one I asked for. I always arrive late due to flights from UK and they are ready and helpful. Porter is just great. Nice big room with shower in quiet area. I love the Speke Hotel
Breakfast was rather slow . I wanted to be away so arrived just before 7 am and unusually everything not ready. Got there in the end but other guests too waiting for things to be ready

This is an old hotel, it needs updating. I was asked to pay for breakfast for my guest even though I booked and paid for 2 people
