The room layout is beautiful ❤️
The food selection is lacking, there wasn't any cheddar cheese for the omelette, only Parmesan. The milk alternatives only constituted of soy milk and it was sweetened, which can be an issue for those who don't take sugar in their cereal. The cakes on display had sat for lengthy periods of time, thus they could not be consumed, which was disappointing. Lastly the timeous delivery and execution of requests by guests is imperative, if one cannot be able to do so, they should be honest with the guest and mention it cordially to the guest. We would order only to have our order delayed or not attended to at all. Please note that the above are areas of improvement.

Fabulous hotel!!! The architecture, the food and the customer service outstanding. I don't know if I will see another hotel with this level of quality.

I liked the gardens, it was nice to stay at a place with good greenery in the city.
The pool was nice, and there was a good number of restaurants inside the hotel. The room service was good and it was very clean.
The water wasn't as hot enough. It was difficult to enjoy the bath tub.

Still the best hotel in Kampala. Expensive since there is no competition. Location is great.
Rooms are tired and and nothing has been changed for the last 20’years. Ratty old
Phones, tables, lamps that don’t work, cupboards don’t have handles. The balcony door wouldn’t lock and was broken. The toilet is so dated and it’s sad. The Hotel management should show more interest and inspect the rooms.

Old vintage look, very friendly staff and cleanliness
For that price, they need to modernize /upgrade the facility, right now the rooms lack simple modern conveniences.

### ⭐ Honest Feedback – Food Quality Needs Serious Improvement
We checked in as a family of four, and after a long and tiring journey, we asked the receptionist for a good place to enjoy a nice steak. We were kindly recommended *The Explorer Restaurant*. We all ordered well-done steaks and waited about 20–30 minutes for our meals. Unfortunately, when the food arrived, we were quite disappointed — the steaks were extremely tough and difficult to eat. Sadly, none of us could finish our meals that evening.
A couple of days later, we decided to try the main restaurant, hoping for a better experience. My wife ordered the beef biryani, but once again, the meat was very tough and unchewable. The same went for the spring rolls, which didn’t meet the expected standard of a five-star establishment.
Overall, I would say the **food quality really needs improvement**. Everything else about the hotel was fairly average — not bad, but nothing particularly outstanding either. I truly hope the management takes this feedback constructively, as the hotel has great potential if the dining experience is improved.

Very Good
The staff, especially the bellboy, were exceptionally friendly, and the rest of the team was equally welcoming. My friends and I were treated with respect and care throughout our stay. The Elemis body and bath products were an added delight. ?
The food was a disappointment. I ordered a curry and, while I understand Indian cuisine can be rich with oils and fats like ghee, my dish was swimming in oil. Unfortunately, I couldn’t enjoy it and felt nauseated upon the first bite ??. It was a chicken dish, yet it was excessively oily, not due to natural fats, and could have benefited from more tomato, coconut milk, or crushed cashews for balance. The dish felt basic and bland, and remaking it isn’t the solution—getting it right the first time matters. I expected more from the kitchen.
