Very Good
Breakfast was very good.
The location is in a narrow alleyway, which is noisy at night! Generally however the location is good, very close to the StoneTown waterfront. I have suggested to the owner that stands for suitcase would be helpful!

Central Location and friendly staff were just what we wanted for vacation. We were able to take all the tours we planned very easily because of the staff. Great breakfast too.
Needed another chair to sit on in room when two people are there.

Very Good
I loved my room and high bed, it was very romantic. Fast wifi worked well all around the hotel. Hotel decorations, traditional lamps, doors, paintings, wardrobes etc were really unique, stunning. The hotel was colorful and charming inside. Attention to detail. Mosquito net around bed. Great location, easy to walk around the entire old town, just a 2-minute walk to the ferry terminal and a few more minutes to the beach. Cute bathrobes in my room. Restaurant at the main floor.
Maybe a bit too expensive for what you get. I mean it's nice but there's no swimming pool, no rooftop terrace with the view etc. No lift (traditional old building) so you have to climb up the stairs. I was disappointed about breakfast. There's a few meals you can choose from and I ordered a fresh fruit plater (told htem even before my check in) and tea but there was also supposed to be a breakfast buffet with fruit and other snacks as well. I did not see any buffet and just got a small fruit bowl and a cup of tea. Not big enough for a breakfast at expensive 4* hotel in my opinion.

Very Good
We stayed 1 night and the staff were very helpful during a power cut throughout the evening. Very early morning taxi to the airport arrived on time.
Hard to locate by walking only. No electric generator so can have total darkness if power cut.

I love the breakfast and IDDI and all stuff and the way, they all treat us like King and Queen. Nobody makes different because of Mzungu or Massai. We are all humans and you did a great job. Our Suite was like a castle. Thank you. We enjoy the stay and will come back. Asante sana.
Nothing.

Good
Good position in Stone Town. Caracterful original building. Spacious room with outdoor bathroom. Good breakfast.
Staff was not really accommodating, except from the manager whos very nice. Room was quite noisy from the bustle of the town, especially early in the morning but thats to be expected if we want to visit stone town. Overall the hotel feels a bit dated.

Wonderful
Loved this historic property including the raised beds. Its serene inside with great antique furniture. The bathrooms are very generous in size. The staff are really friendly and help with anything you need. We had the rooftop suite which had a rooftop seating area and bathroom. We liked looking out on the rooftops. There are five flights of stairs to get there though.
Not much. Porters will help with luggage up stairs and to your van if the car delivering you is too large. Ring ahead.

Wonderful
I love the property because it has the authentic feel of Zanzibar. It is not the same as any other hotels. The staff was amazing, they went above and beyond. Daniela, (the owner)Jamila, Lulu and the other staff whose names I didnt get were very helpful. Many stairs but thats part of the appeal of the unique building.if you have any knee issue ask for a lower level room.
I did not have any dislikes but it has a stairs as I mentioned
Thank you for your information!
