We loved everything about this hotel. Pool area, small but perfect. Rooftop restaurant, amazing views, great service & great food and drinks. Fab place to watch the sunset. The staff were all brilliant and were very happy. The room (superior double, sea view) was also perfect. Beautifully presented, comfortable bed, air con, view out to sea & the bathroom was very modern. The hotel was easy to get to by taxi. All of the touches in the room & hotel made it perfect for us
We loved everything about this property

We did stay in the family suite and the room was SUPER spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable and I liked the bathroom; specially the shower.
The hotel was beautiful with a lot of green and we LOVED their breakfast. The breads were to die for !
We only stayed one night, I wish we could have stayed longer!

Wonderful
Location- Heart of stone town, near everything, walking distance to all the sights/ocean
Staff- the staff is Very friendly and helpful. Maureen and Ali at the front desk answered all my questions. They arranged a driver to pick and drop me at the airport so I did not have to find a taxi.
Room- The room is very large. (I was not expecting that). It is very hot in Zanzibar and when I entered the room I was so happy because it had air conditioning. I was not expecting that because I had been to the East Coast and most of the places do not have AC. I was so happy to have that.
The breakfast was made on demand so it was fresh. The view from the attic was of the ocean and it was so nice to have that view while eating the breakfast.
I am so glad I booked here and highly recommend it.

Pleasant
Locations was good, rooftop view amazing
Uncomfortable beds, no elevators, no parking in front of you have to carry your luggage from the taxi stop to the hotel about 200 m., the rooms without mosquito repellers, and everything is old inside the rooms

Good
Beautifully decorated hotel & room. Location was really good. Nice furniture good shower and bathroom.
There was way too much noise from two places: 1. the room next to us as there was only a wooden panel behind the bed separating you from the other room (we could hear a girl talk on the phone the whole time so we had to knock on it and ask her to be quiet) 2. There was a lot of noise from the street. The breakfast was bad for a hotel like this - they serve instant coffee unless you pay more for a propere one - the sausages tasted like beef but they said it was chicken - overall just flavourless. Many mosquitos downstairs in the lobby & the receptionist did not seem to care about it. Not very welcoming receptionist.

Wonderful
Great location in central Stone Town. Big clean rooms. Roof patio was great and both breakfast and dinner were yummy. Didn’t use the pool but it looked nice. The airport pickup was easy to organize with them and a good price - we ended up using the same driver for the rest of our time in Zanzibar
The hotel organized a guide for us to take a walking tour of Stone Town at our request. It wasn’t a bad tour but the front desk had originally estimated 1-1.5 hours when it ended up being 3 hours, the guide dumped a lot of information for 15 minutes right at the start, which while interesting was hard to process and would have been better spread throughout the tour and it was just a little long.

Maureen, I believe that was her name ...I am awful with names but she was perfect
They sent me an email saying my room was cancelled two days before my trip but it was straightened out quickly.

The room is big and clean
My room was 303 which is right below the restaurant, whenever they were moving chairs or tables I can hear that loud and clear. And they were moving furnitures late at night and early in the morning too…

Poor
Comfortable bed, nice bedroom furnishings
We didn’t like much as it was a horrible stay. Avoid the restaurant at all costs even for the free breakfast. Service is a nightmare, and crows come and eat everything. Our bathroom shower flooded and the entire room, our AC leaked all over the floor, and no one did anything about anything. Lobby is uninviting. It is dark and hot with no one at the front desk working. The entry to the hotel is down an alley and cars can’t even pull up so you have to carry luggage. Everything is blocked off to walk back at night so couldn’t get to the hotel because no main entrance. The price should be $15 instead of $150. Avoid this hotel at all costs. I wish we did. It was a horrible stressful and disappointing experience even for only one night.

Rooftop restaurant views were wonderful first thing in the morning and as the sun was setting. Food was also excellent. I appreciated the staff person at the front door when heading out for pre-dawn walks who let me out and back in. The location in the midst of Old Town's narrow and winding streets is a major plus. It is also near the waterfront.
Can't think of a thing.

Very Good
Great location. Just need to walk a bit as the car won't leave you on door.
Spacious room and they give attention to mosquitoes.
Breakfast was late and the room was noisy even by night.

Good
Overall I enjoyed my stay here. I like properties that have character and this place had character. The rooftop deck and the courtyard pool area helped provide this character. Good location and views.
Taxi's can't drive to the front of the hotel so I suggest putting some signs up as walking through the alleyway with your bags not knowing if you headed in the right direction is not a great feeling. My only other issue during my stay was the restaurant. On my second night I decided to have dinner at the restaurant. When they handed me the menu I realized that in the morning I could have had more options but instead in the morning I was not provided the breakfast menu but rather just told I could have eggs. As for dinner, the meal I ordered was underwhelming and then when I got the bill I was not happy. First, I had asked for just water to drink and they brought a large plastic bottle (fine) but when I saw they charged me $5 USD for the exact same size bottle I had bought from a shop a few hours earlier for 38 cents. If I would have known that I would have just walked back to my room and grabbed the bottle I had already bought (10 days in Tanzania and bottled water was always reasonably priced, except here). As for the meal in total I paid $20 USD which would be fine if you would have provided better value. The Club sandwich was half of the size I would have gotten in the U.S. along with the amount of fries, yet you charged as much as I would have paid in a U.S. restaurant. Just way over priced for what was provided.
