The hotel was in good shape, and the staff were friendly, but some of the amenities mentioned on booking.com weren't available. Overall, it's a decent place to stay for the price if you're not looking for anything luxurious or relaxing.

The location is very difficult to access, being in the middle of the maze of narrow alleys in the old Stone Town. Not possible for a car to get closer than a block away (though one tuktuk driver knew how to navigate his three-wheeler to the door).

Hotel is located in the center of Stone Town. Good value but not permanent electricity when we visit
No permanent power and issues to pay with credit card. Also no washing machine

It was clean airy & peaceful. Quiet at nighttime. The majority of staff friendly and professional. Breakfast was plentiful & although busy at times, food arrived.
Some facilities were not as mentioned on the booking list. We had booked a deluxe double room but initially given a family room. I had to ask to change, which was facilitated, but I'm still not convinced we had a 'deluxe room'. There was a roof terrace, but no furniture or shade to sit on. There are balconies at the front, but not accessible from the rooms & again no seats. The only safe is in reception, no room safes & rooms have showers,not the advertised " baths/ hot tub'. An iron is available from reception but no ironing board. There are other things on the facilities list that are not available but I'm not going to list them all. A staff member did take a photo of the list I showed her which is on Booking.com & she said she would look into it. I'm sure I can't be the first person to notice this.

Close to the ferry terminal. A/c worked well. Beds were comfortable and some staff were helpful.
Some facilities, particularly the bathroom are quite old. Showering is difficult due to poor installation. Need to carefully check invoiced amount as they use unfavourable exchange rates and tried to charge us double for some taxes.

Their breakfast was filing, the staff was very helpful, the room was spacious and cool as well
Nothing to do with the Lodge but in the afternoon there was a power cut by the government for at least 2 hours on my floor though the other floor had electricity. Having said that the AC was still working

Very kind and helpful staff, great location when visiting Stone Town. Good AC and WiFi. Nice views from the rooftop breakfast area.
Beds were too short for my son and I since we are very tall.

I liked how they tried to maintain the culture and keep their history and old designs alive. Safari Lodge was amazing, their breakfast was so much it could take you most of the day before getting hungry. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Overall, great place to be.
