The customer service specially at the reception truly lacks the skills to deal with customers pleasantly. In our extremely short stay of 1 day we were truly dissapointed. Small things like we needed help with an adapter or needed logistical support for a tour booked with the hotel and the staff did not put any effort to guide us. The reception never answered calls from the room. We had requested for a delayed check out, which the team had agreed to and then when we came for checkout they were dissmissive and rude.

It is a very old hotel, needs at least minimal renovation. All towels are stained. The fridge in the room is not cold, you cannot cool your waters. The food was not good at all.
Some money made should be put back in the hotel, I understand that it is a historical site, but they can at least put some nice coffee in the room instead of the cheapest version of everything.
No private beach, there are so many people that will not leave you alone whether you leave from the back door, front door, or the beach side of this hotel. You are surrounded by shop keepers and EVERYONE is just trying to get commission out of anything, really.

Everything! Class in every corner and aspect. Great attention to detail and design. Exterior and interior. The room is absolutely lovely, well designed, well equipped. Food (we only ate in snack bar but ordered outside the menus) was great. Breakfast was top notch and staff is assisting in every way and so pleasant

The hotel, hotel restaurant and staff are great.
The Price for a room was absolutely way too high, considering where it is, which is a third world old city with not much to offer. A beach front hotel in the Med or Caribbean, or a room in Paris or New York are less expensive than Park Hyatt Zanzibar.

Location
We have stayed for 4 nights , and no one cleans our room, although we remove the privacy and leave room before 8:00am and return after 1:00 pm we always find the room unclean

Absolutely loved the views from the hotel, it is set right on the beach with the most incredible sunset. Rooms were spacious and modern. The food was also really good

Excellent breakfast, and location, nice view but small windows.
We arrived 3 PM (time of check in) one of our rooms was ready, other not, we wait almost 2 hours, when we get the room, there was no extra bed, no crib, we call reception and wait for more than one hour and half, still not prepared, although we call them from our country to confirm our requirements.

Our room was gorgeous and very comfortable! The view of the ocean was gorgeous, and the room was fantastic. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The location was great - we could walk to most of the Old Town in a few minutes, and while we found review complaining about being woken by the call to prayer in the morning, we never heard it from our room. The bed was super comfortable, and the room could be made quite dark by the curtains. The concierge recommended a really fantastic rooftop dinner that originally I was a bit skeptical of at first, but it ended up being one of the nicest dinners we had on our 3 week holiday. Very very little to actually complain about with our stay - the accommodation and staff were truly wonderful.
The breakfast was fine, though the breakfast staff didn't seem to understand what a dairy allergy was. Also, a minor complaint, but they were almost too attentive - we just wanted to eat our breakfast in peace, but they kept interrupting us to clear plates, give new utensils, check on the latest thing we put on our plate at the buffet, say hello, explain the food, etc. I appreciate they're trying to get things perfect by being attentive, but man - chill out a bit and let us just eat in peace!
Oh, also - seeing a man shit on the beach in front of the hotel from my room. That was a real down point. ??

Breakfast is good. Although bacon is missing. And next time inform in advance if operational or not. The pool was the reason to select that place and hotel. Disappointed. Offered the pool in SerenA- but doesnt make sense- why do we cross and walk that side and not for our convenience.

The style & the design of the property were intricate, detailed, special. The employees were knowledgeable, helpful, attentive. And the view from the room balcony was spectacular.
Jonathan at breakfast was especially attentive and kind, providing best service and making sure you are well cared for and enjoying your time.
The pressure of water in the bathtub was not sufficient enough. So couldn’t enjoy the beautiful bathtub in the room, unfortunately.
