Wonderful
We only stayed for one night but we would definitely consider staying again and even for a bit longer next time if we go back to Zanzibar.
I really liked the traditional feel of the hotel. And despite it looking rustic, it’s actually very comfortable and it matches the ambiance which we really liked. If you are looking for a modern one, then it might not be for you but for us it was perfect.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They even assisted us with a baggage scale as we forgot ours.
As we were flying early morning the next day, they even packed as breakfast to go which was very thoughtful.
Overall, it was a good experience and I do recommend the place.

Staff was very accommodating all over the property. Check in was fast and easy, bags were taken to our rooms and an overview of room accessories was given. Breakfast staff were amazing.
Room service dishes from another room were set in the windowsill outside our room for over a day.

The hotel is amazing, the room well decorated. Very clean and very helpful staff. The location is perfect.
Second stay , this time the room was noisy (3rd floor), AC was making noise and not working properly all night .

The hotel is and old Omani palace, amazing decor and architecture, so much character. Feels like and Afro - Oriental fantasy . Also the lovely swimming pool is nicely designed. Breakfast was generous with many options. The restaurant at the hotel is fantastic. Also a nice rooftop. A great sea view . The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room had a very very high ceiling and the illumination wasn’t sufficient for me .

I wish I would have booked this hotel for our whole stay in Zanzibar. I love the look of the hotel and all the decorations. The room was big and had tons of natural light from 4-5 windows. And had a mini balcony.
It was noisy outside the hotel with car horns and people talking. We only stayed one night so it did not bother us too much but it might be bad if we stayed longer.

Everything was amazing. The staff was super friendly, the pool was amazing, the restaurant (breakfast and dinner) was yummy and a great value, and the location was fantastic.
There were dirty dishes from another room that were left outside our room for over a day.

The hotel is wonderful and I returned twice. The staff was more than accomodating for all my request. The pool is delicious. The hotel and the rooms are very well decorated. The breakfast is ok, but I would suggest to improve the confiture/jam, home made confiture would certainly change it all! + good muesly.
I did not like the food at the restaurant, the fresh fish... was not too fresh. It seemed that it had been frozen for years. I had to eat outside of the restaurant the whole time. Indeed, juices and mocktails were very good.

I loved my stay! The hotel's location right by the ocean was perfect, and its character was truly charming. The pool was a highlight, and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. Staying in the Freddie Mercury room was such a unique and fitting welcome to Zanzibar!
