I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kiponda B&B Hotel in Stone Town, and I must say it was a perfect experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived with my big luggage, my first priority was finding a safe place to store it for the duration of my stay in Zanzibar. They not only offered secure storage facilities but exceeded my expectations by providing a reliable solution for my needs. Due to a delayed flight, I arrived at the hostel much later than anticipated. Despite the inconvenience, Salma, the owner, went above and beyond by offering to refund the cost of the missed day of my reservation. This gesture of understanding and flexibility immediately made me feel welcomed and valued as a guest. Upon my return, with an early morning flight looming, Salma surprised me once again with her exceptional hospitality. She kindly arranged a room for me, ensuring I had a comfortable and stress-free stay before my departure. I cannot express enough gratitude for the level of care and hospitality I experienced here. Salma's dedication to guest satisfaction is truly remarkable and sets a standard of service that I have rarely encountered in my travels. For solo travelers who want to explore the island like myself, navigating with a large luggage, Kiponda Hotel is an absolute gem. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone seeking a hassle-free stay in Stone Town, Zanzibar.
the WiFi is not available in the rooms, but it didn't significantly impact my experience.

While were not talking high end accommodations here, what I am saying is that I received great value for the price. Mohammed and staff went above and beyond in anticipating and meeting our needs. If youre going to Zanzibar for an all-inclusive beach stay, this is the wrong venue. If you want a perfect location to experience the life and culture of Stone Town, then this is the absolutely best place for you. A truly unique adventure.
As a cooler temperatures loving Canadian, the heat and humidity at the end of February in Zanzibar was tough to adjust to.

Kiponda is in the heart of Stone Town. We spent three days there. Everything from room, to comfort, to breakfast, to staff was great. If you plan to stay in Stone Town and are looking for a good price quality option, I definitely recommend Kiponda.

Wonderful
the staff, location, and also the buffet breakfast.
The noisy room. I thought the rooms were soundproof as mentioned. You can hear the outside traffic and honking. At least it stopped after 11 pm.

Kipunda B&B was our base camp during a two week visit to Zanzibar where we could stay and store our luggage between longer excursions. Beds were ok but could have been more comfortable. All other things were great, staff fantastic, breakast very good, small but cosy rooms.

Great friendly staff and an ideal location in Stonetown. The rooms were very comfortable. The limewashed bathroom that was seperate to the room was better than the ensuite's. Breakfast was great. We only spent 2 nights but it felt like home, we would stay there again given the chance.

I really enjoyed my stay, it is a very beautiful B&B hotel in the middle of Stone town,
I would like to thank all the staff for their excellent service, especially Mohamed, Jimmy, Nasra, and the lady in the breakfast area( i don't know her name). They were all very helpful and friendly.
I believe that the wifi in my room was a little bit slow, and sometimes it cuts off, that's something you can improve that,

Wonderful
The staff was extremely wonderful and the location was great. Everyone helped us from baggage to tours. Best location ever, can walk everywhere, near the ocean. This part of the old city is architecturally and culturally exquisite.
Because of bad knees I couldn't climb the stairs so took a room on first floor. There was no internet in my room so I had to sit in the courtyard to use my phone. Upstairs room had internet. The staff brought me breakfast from the top floor which was great
