Nice staff, large territory, great choice of food and drinks, amazing beach, clean and friendly.
Can’t book the restaurants to get the dinner , shut down of electricity which is not safe for the electronic devices.

Everything, the pool was huge, planty of different locations of sunbeds so you could choose different places every day - calm shade, pool area, beach area, the views were amazing, the food delicious, staff very attentive. We were also able to get an early check in and got a free room upgrade
Its a shame its no longer adults only
The wine included in the all inclusive could have been better, it was much nicer in the alacarte restaurants than in the main bar
The use of wristtbands felt a bit dated, im not used to it anymore from other resorts, its uncomfortable to have to sleep with it

The location was amazing, the food was great and fresh, the staff was incredibly kind and respectful.
The hotel has its own private beach, yet the people trying to sell you stuff on the beach (not affiliated witht the hotel) can still be annoying

Big resort, very clean and well maintained, located on the most beautiful beach of the island. It has many pools and day and night entertainment. Food was good compared with any other restaurants on the island, great variety for the buffet
The options for alcoholic drinks were very limited and low quality and the waiting for the hotel car to take you places inside the resort was long (it’s a big resort and you need transportation to move around)

We had a wonderful stay at RIU Palace Zanzibar. The facilities were truly impressive and exceeded our expectations. The location is absolutely fabulous – the resort is surrounded by a dreamy tropical garden, and both the beach and the ocean are simply fantastic.
One of the things we appreciated most was that the tide wasn’t too extreme, so we could fully enjoy the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean at almost any time of day.
Overall, it was a beautiful and relaxing experience.
The only downside was that the room had a noticeable damp smell, which was a bit uncomfortable at times.

The hotel advertises 5 restaurants, but when you arrive they tell you that you neeed to book the restaurants through their app. When you try to book it is all taken, end up eating at the "basic" restaurant that does not require a pre book and the food is very poor, not that promised quality.

Everything is perfect! Place is so gorgeous with stunning view and beach facilities; Many options in restaurants and food selection which is impressive for an all-inclusive package; the best part is the staff and their hospitality. Highly recommended!

We stayed at 3 resorts and this was the best of all. The food, atmosphere, hospitality, all was great! Having a variety of foods and desserts through buffet was awesome! Staff is very welcoming. Beach… AMAZING! At times, we would go to Riu Jambo to enjoy some of there amenities as well and try there restaurants - included in the package if you stay at Riu palace, you’ll get in to Jambo for free. 2 for 1 package!
It’s a really big property. Be prepared to walk. But the walk is worth it with the views of landscaping and ocean

The manager tried her best to make up for it by transferring us to a new room in the new wing for our last night. While it was a much better room, there were still things to be desired. The best thing was the location with a beautiful beach that was sufficiently private not to get bothered by the locals hawking.
First, Booking.com did not make clear that the room rate was a per person room rate and the price would be different with two person occupancy. Once we sorted that, the room that we were given was clearly in the old wing. The quality of the room was just very old with everything breaking down. Several of the plugs in the room weren't working. The hairdryer was not working. The ability to get hot water was sporadic. We called one evening to get water and the staff took over an hour to bring water. Electricity is unreliable - I was on important work call for an hour and wifi went out 3 times in one hour. And in our original room, the cleaning equipment by housekeeping was kept outside our room all day and night!
In the new room that we were transferred to the paint smell from it being brand new was strong and gave me a bad headache. They were also drilling and knocking with construction in the new wing during the day.
As it relates to food and the restaurants, the buffet was ok - we could not make any reservations at the other restaurants at any time. Also, the ability to only get one beach towel at a time - with no flexibility!

We stayed for six days. Overall, the resort is spacious and well designed, with a beautiful beach and an array of tasty food. Our room was spacious, had a lanai/porch and felt private. Most of the resort experience was enjoyable, especially beach access, stetching and pool exercise classes, the availability of non-alcoholic drinks at the various bars, and the variety of evening entertainment offered daily. Also available for additional fees was access to water activities.
There were a few disappointments. Pepe's restaurant didn’t meet expectations in terms of food quality - it was like a fast food buffet and we didn't give it a second chance. On arrival, we encountered issues with the room, the air conditioning wasn’t working. Although it was fixed, one of the bathroom sink drains wasn't draining. A few days later, the main door to the room (card operated) stopped working entirely. We had to use the balcony to enter and exit until maintenance resolved the issue.
A more concerning aspect was the way different guests were treated. We observed that European guests seemed to receive better treatment and respect than others. Staff could benefit from cultural awareness training to ensure that all guests are treated with equity and courteously, regardless of their appeatance or background. Additionally, communication and follow-up on requests need improvement. Staff would often agree to something over the phone, but not follow through or provide an explanation afterward.
