Good location. Friendly staff. Good condition. Clean and safe.
Some of the parts of the room seemed outdated. Some fixtures in the room were broken but fixed in a cheap unprofessional way. Not a big deal though.

The staff was wonderful. The manager was approacbable and helpful. The location was great. The bathroom was modern and super clean. The bed was fresh and not too soft, just how I like it.
I did not like the spike Zanzibar door in my bedroom that led to the bathroom. I stumvled on the door and was scaped on the arm that still hurts a day and a half later. The door is unsafe for a bathroom, especially when one has to be aware of a not so visible step to make to enter into the bathroom--coincidentally where I stumbled on the stwp and fell again the spiked door. Beautiful door but very dangerous. I informed the Manager and Reservation Supervisor. Other than that, I really like the place. I would love to corresponded to someone in the "corporate office" about this incident and offer suggests.

Accommodation - bed was comfortable
There was no disturbance.
Staff were awesome.
Location was perfect, I could walk around in the evenings.
No gym or fitness center as promised.
The price of hotel was expensive considering that there was no breakfast.
Meals are over priced and not so good.

I had a 4 day stay. Proximity to shore, edge of old and new, walkable area, easy to meet tour guide and be picked up for excursions. The rooftop view is glorious and breakfast was delicious. The staff are almost too attentive with daily cleaning! I also booked cab to and from the airport through the hotel which was easy and prompt. Ally Rashid was welcoming along with the rest of the staff.

The location was very convenient for all activities.
Special thanks to the reception team and the waiters at the restaurant!.
We had an issue with the door which was difficult to open/close..maintenace never showed up.
One of the cleaners was very rude when we asked why she didn't change the towels and pillow cases as required,although the matter was fixed when we brought it up with the reception team.

Location is very good. Close to the ferry and walking distance from main attractions in StoneTown
Breakfast did not have many variety and overall it was sufficient but not 4 starts level. For example, omeletes only prepared after 8 am which is not compatible with the timing of the tours.
Not enough hot water for two showers. It is an old system and you need to wait to have again not water..

The location was close to the beach, the area was quiet and the Staff were very helpful

Not a serious operation, damaging to the Golden Tulip brand.
The suite was confirmed and paid long ahead but still they double booked it. We arrived an hour after check-in time and were told to wait for an hour in the lobby while our smaller room was prepared.
The second day, while we were out, the staff moved our luggage to the suite but left the door unlocked! The jacuzzi in the suite does not work, so it is actually a dirty and uncomfortable sitting shower.
The breakfast is Indian food and little else. Coffee is really bad. No alcohol in the bar. The pool looks dirty and in need of renovating. The doorman couldn't be bothered to open the door for guests with luggage.
