Beautiful! Location was perfect ! Near most of the activities and local shops.
Every night they had entertainment with dinner.
The internet was a bit slow
Beach was not accessible rue to low tide in the morning and afternoon but they provided access to other near by beaches

The property has the potential to be a superior five star resort, in terms of location, architecture and people.
There is clearly incapable management, as a five star resort there is a lot that the resort lacks and which require maintenance and refurbishment, starting from the bathroom and shower area, the seating area covers. Also the breakfast area the table mats are worn out and old, and Zanzibar they have beautiful and affordable low cost hand crafted mats. Also the silverware is clearly old as it has faded in color and shine. Also expectation for such a villa is to have a bathtub. There was also no rubbish bin in the room which we had to request. The shower head wasn’t working properly.
Other than that there was absolutely nothing complimentary in terms of fruits or chocolate you would find in the room at other famous resorts.
We were quite disappointed I must say.

My stay at Essque Hotel was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The location is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly maintained. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a lovely local touch in the design. The breakfast and restaurant options were fine— food and fresh ingredients every day.
What really made the experience special was the amazing staff at the reception.
Degna from the evening shift was simply outstanding — professional, warm, and always ready to assist with anything I needed.
Nema, Shine, and Amina were equally kind and welcoming, making sure every detail was taken care of during my stay.
I truly felt at home and very well taken care of. Thank you to the whole Essque team for such a memorable experience. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zanzibar! ?

The staff was friendly and listened to clients. The kids club is amazing with lots of options for little ones. The village walk was educative.
The breakfast buffet with flies was disgusting and lives one hungry. Flies and birds would settle on the food. The birds would even eat the croissant on the watch of the staff. Got tired of complaining about that to the staff during my stay. The tourism agent at the reception is a rip off stay away from them. An entire day trip in stone town for $200 and not even a bottle of water provided and fee to the sites not included.
