Get a room with air conditioner! Unfortunately we didn’t see the description that much and we got the one without air conditioner and we were so hot throughout the stay! Couldn’t sleep at all.

My wedding ring disappearing from on top of the fridge in a locked room, where only the cleaners had accessed the room, remains a mystery. My advice would be that people be cautious about how they safely hide their valuables when they are at this place.

Breakfast was lovely, everything was clean. The host was awesome & very helpful. The location is perfect for an affordable trip to Nungwi. We spent two nights there, two in Kiwengwa, one in Mangapwani & two in Stone Town. Staying here at the Lighthouse Guesthouse was perfect to visit the Turtle Sanctuary, Mnemba Island & Tumbatu. The internet markets that the sunsets are the best from Nungwi but I thought they were much better in the West.
Wouldn't have changed a thing at the accommodation but a word of advice when staying in this area, only book activities from actual tour operator stands. Freelance guides will probably rip you off or sell something that doesn't exist. Tumbatu Island is a dead reef & we were stung by jellyfish whilst snorkeling. Mnemba Island is a much better option.

Great Customer Service from Dula the manager, he made our say comfortable
TV needed at the premises and the internet needs an upgrade, so terrible at peak hours between 9pm and 11pm…I was working at the time and had to compromise

The Staff was really friendly and the breakfast was good
I was showering and the water went out in the middle of the shower. I had to wait until someone came and fix it, when I told that to the owned he didn't offer me nothing fot the bad time I had.

Staff were friendly and location was incredible for the price. We found it to be very affordable for what we needed since we didn’t plan to spend much time in the room.
It’s definitely a budget place, no frills. We were ok with that, but if you’re looking for something fancier, keep that in mind when booking.
Hot water in the shower runs out pretty quickly. But that’s something we’ve noticed across budget hotels in Zanzibar.

Lighthouse Guesthouse is an excellent property, clean, safe to walk around and close to many amenities.
Dulla, the host is amazing and really helpful. He always trying to accommodate your needs.
You can easily get extra activities booked for a good price.
He arrange for me the taxi in the morning for the ferry station and the taxi was on time!
Breakfast is excellent.
1 min walk to a beach and less than 10 min walk to the Fish market restaurant (excellent for quality and price).
I would recommend going here if you want to be close to the Nungwi beach and Barak turtle aquarium (2min walk from the property).

The rooms were nice and clean, breakfast was great too! They have friendly cats and dog on the property which was awesome! And the beach is so close and amazing!
However they have no smoking policy so sometimes some guest may smoke as you`re trying to enjoy your breakfast. There is also no quiet time in some night so if you`re staying near the breakfast area, it`s not good.
