Great spaces for relaxing by yourself, but also for meeting people. Hang out at the bar, play games in the pavilion, or sit on the comfy benches.
We rented the hut, which had a king-size bed, a fan, and a large bathroom. Breakfast was included, but we also ate a wonderful dinner on the premises when we arrived late.
We are ready going travelers, but for people who expect room service or toiletries or anything too fancy, they have a simple sign: "Sorry. We are just a hostel." Brilliantly clear.

Same place we stayed at before our Safari, friendly staff especially the helpful Maasai night guard.
Booking was messed up and we got put in the reserve room, which was in terrible condition:
- Room was dirty
- Bathroom flooded
- Mildew and water damage in bathroom
- broken tap
- broken toilet seat
- smoke in room from pizza oven outside
Disappointed as our first night a week earlier was fine.

Easy stay for 1 night before our group safari. Staff was very helpful especially the Masaai who helped us get to our room even though it was 1am and room perfect for one night.

White House was a lovely space to be based in Arusha. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dorm was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with a huge variety of options.

The White House of Tanzania was a wonderful stay - the space is gorgeous and so much relaxation room! Abu and Stella made us feel at home and looked after us the entire time, meeting them was a highlight of our trip for sure. We're excited to come back again and couldn't recommend the place more!

My partner and I stayed at White house hostel for 4 nights. We absolutely loved our stay and felt like home! They helped us with organizing daily tours, prepared delicious barbecues and meals and made our stay absolutely perfect. We had the feeling that all employees are happy and satisfied, which was very important to us! Stella, was our favorite, she was always there to help and so friendly. We will come back!

The outside patio area is really nice, the people working there are friendly albeit very slow (but this is the way in many part of East Africa). They have parking that’s secure.
This place seems to have lost it’s touch, perhaps it was hit hard by COVID?
It had a lot of facilities that clearly would have been nice, like a small area for screening films, but that wasn’t operating. The rooms could have been delightful, but felt run down, moldy, and with stained bed sheets. The bed missed mosquito net and you just got a feel of this being a lively and popular Hostel a few years ago that really catered to a social backpacker crowd, but that it since, has been slowly been less and less taken care of. Someone from management or an owner should drop by and do some piloting to get this place on the right track again.

I initially booked for one night, but after being offered a Safari, I decided to extend my stay by another night following the Safari. The staff was extremely friendly and ensured our stay was comfortable. The Safari was excellently organized — we were picked up early in the morning and returned to the guest house afterwards. We could conveniently store our luggage at the guest house during the Safari. It’s worth mentioning that the Safari price was cheaper than booking online, but that’s a different story.
The food offered in the menu and the breakfast options were very good and delicious.
The beer at the bar was priced so reasonably that there was no need to buy it from a store.
It should be noted that our room didn’t have any mirrors at all, which was quite inconvenient, especially for my wife. She mentioned this every time we talked about our Safari experience :)
