Location is convenient, but not very impressive lobby as a five star hotel, may be is in the core of the city, not spacious enough.
The hardwood floor is not in good condition, lots of maintenance work to do, walking with provided slippers on the floor every steps seems sticky to the floor and noisy.

The room is new, clean and the bed is so comfortable. I like that the shower and the toilet are separated. The location is excellent. The staff is amazing and attentive. I really enjoyed my stay here.
The WiFi was a bit slow at night.

Their baby accommodations were beyond expectation. I make my baby’s baby food from scratch and they stored the food we brought in their kitchen and even heated and brought it up to our room like room service. It was so fancy!
Everything was wonderful

The location is excellent. Extremely convenient to MRT. I stayed in a suite and it was great. I recommend booking a suite over their standard room. The quality of the suite is 5-star.
The sound at times could be heard from other rooms/hallway, etc... However, the corner suite I was given did an overall good job of reducing the sound.

The hotel is beautiful with an inviting and grand lobby. The staff is exceptional and most are trilingual (Mandarin, Japanese, English). The small attached bakery, The Nine Bakery showcases delicious baked goods and the hotels signature pineapple cakes. The room was comfortable for our family of three and they were able to provide us with a roll away bed (at additional cost) to meet our needs. The king bed was enormous and the mattress was moderately firm and supportive. We visited during New Years and they had a small mochi pounding ceremony and Taiko performance by a local school group. This was a special treat!
Our room had a strong musty odor that did dissipate when the air conditioner was turned on.

We chose the Okura Prestige as our base for eight nights exploring northern Taiwan. It's centrally located right next to Zhongshan Station on the red MRT line. Entrance/Exit 3 is only 100 meters away, but the extra 50 meters to Exit 4 are well worth it for those who appreciate an escalator. Right next to the hotel, there's a 7-Eleven, a pharmacy, and two large Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department stores with good restaurants and a large, diverse food court. All of this is within a five-minute walk. There's also an ATM in the hotel lobby. Overall, it was the perfect base for our needs. The room on the 10th floor was spotlessly clean and featured a comfortable bed with top-quality linens. It also included a Nespresso coffee machine, a Dyson hairdryer, and a sturdy desk with ample and well-designed power outlets and USB ports. They certainly didn't skimp on guest comfort.
The breakfast restaurant offered a diverse selection and was excellent. The lobby staff were extremely polite, opening the doors, rushing ahead to press the elevator button, and even bowing.
We found this extreme form of Japanese politeness somewhat embarrassing. Conversely, we felt rudely harassed by the room service during our stay. After only the second night, a note was left in the mailbox by our door stating that they couldn't clean our room in the morning while we were still there. On the following days, the housekeeper knocked to ask when she could clean the room. On the day of our departure, she simply knocked briefly and then entered. This experience somewhat marred the otherwise overwhelmingly positive impression. Better training for the room service staff seems necessary so they don't make a mockery of the politeness displayed in the lobby.

Everything about the hotel was perfect and deserving of a five star rating.
The moment you walk into the lobby, past the doormen, you can tell this is a top notch hotel.
We had their deluxe king room. It was roomy and well laid out with plenty of room to stretch out and put our luggage on the floor (as we were only there 3 nights, we tend to live out of the suitcase rather than unpack) and not bump into everything. The bed was very comfortable.
The room had a good size desk, plenty of plugs placed were you would need them (except the nightstand on the right hand side of the bed had no plugs) , and good wifi
The safe is inside one of the nightstand drawers (at first I could not find it) and big enough for your laptop and everything else you might want to store)
Bathroom was good size with plenty of room for both of us to lay out our stuff. Shower area was very large and the water was good (hot and strong).
The location is also superb. The hotel is close to one of the subway stations (about a 5 min walk). There are also a nice bakery across the street (we opted not to partake in the hotel buffet) as well as a 7-11.
All of the staff we encountered were terrific , friendly and helpful. The doormen ,concierge, front desk, the lobby attendants …not sure their title but they seemed to be watching over everything. One was super conscientious about our being happy and comfortable. I was trying to find a bottle of water (see below) and one of the attendants in the lobby fetched two cold bottles for me , and had two more for us when we got in our taxi to the airport
The pictures on their website accurately reflect the hotel and rooms.
I would highly recommend staying at this hotel when in Taipei. I will the next time we are there.
No where to get a bottle of water or soda in the hotel lobby. We had checked out of our room hours earlier as we had a night flight out of Taipei. I did not want to run across the street to 7-11 as our driver would be at the hotel soon to take us to the airport. I went to the bar, but they had a $15 or maybe it was $20, minimum, per person. That made no sense for a bottle of water or soda. The little shop that sold some desserts and sandwiches had no water or sodas and the restaurant was serving buffet so no way to just go and get a soda.
One of the attendants in the lobby helped and retrieved two cold bottles of water for us
But management should consider having the little cafe shop have some water and sodas in the little refrigerator that they have . Or make it easier to get water or a soda in the lobby area
