Good location near subway stop and beautiful park. Near dongmen market and lots of food and shop options. Staff helped us to book a cab to airport. Quiet and efficient. Free laundry but only one machine but ask for detergent from reception.

Location
1. No air conditioning in December January. Asked the receptionist, she said if she turn on the central AC we will be too cold - we borrow a fan from them in the end 2. Bathroom smells like cigarettes all the time might be some other guests smoking in their room and the smoke came through to our bathroom

Rooms were clean and spacious. Hotel very near a metro station and many bus stops. Daan Park, a big public park, is right in front across the street. Many supermarkets and convenience stores. Many cheap and affordable restaurants around the area.
A bit away from the many nightmarkets but public transport access makes this a minor inconvenience.

Our room at the Rido Hotel gave us a beautiful view of Da'an Park, which we explored on our first morning in Taipei - walking off our jet lag. Great location for exploring local sites on foot (including Shida, or Taiwan Normal University, and the famous Din Tai Fung restaurant) or greater Taipei by subway! The staff at the tiny garage next door were wonderful - taking great care of our rental car and helping us with our luggage.

Loved the location right opposite Daan Park and next to Daan Park MRT on the red line - exit 1 is literally next door with stairs but if you need the lift its exit 6 about 50m down the road. The views are amazing in the morning and the feeling of space once you step out of the hotel... something you dont get with a lot of taipei hotels being so crowded. The hotel itself is smallish .. only like a shop front but taxis never had problems finding it. The front desk is 24 hours and the staff are always helpful. The rooms were a decent size, space taken up by a full functioning hot tub with jets, never had one even in 5 star hotel stays. At first I didnt think I would need a tub but it was great after a full day of touring. Inside the hotel it was quiet and you could sleep peacefully at night. The rooms and bathroom were cleaned daily and were spotless. Nearby are lots of eateries ( Yong Kang Street ) and bakeries and convenience stores like 7-eleven and family mart. There is a single washer and dryer available for free in the basement so that was great. They had free snacks daily and even delivered to the room when we were not in. In all a fabulous stay for a budget price. I wouldnt hesitate to stay again.
I didnt care for the renaissance style decor myself ( more of a scandi minimalist type lol) but then that is personal taste and a minor quibble. There might be some scuffs indicating ageing but the place itself is very clean.

The hotel is clean. The staff are thoughtful as they added protective sleeve on the bedside table corner to protect my toddler. The hotel is just 1 min walk away from the MRT station which is really convenient.
The interior design looks dated and the lobby is small.
