The location of the hostel is awesome, five minutes from all the action in Ximending! I did a tour through the hostel which was also really good, the tour guide (PC) was super friendly and knowledgeable. The beds were also probably the most comfortable hostel beds I’ve ever stayed in lol.
The single thing that I can say that I didn’t like was that there was hair in the drains in all the women’s showers, which made some of them difficult to drain. other than this, everything was perfect.

I would highly recommend this hostel, especially if you're travelling solo and looking to meet people. The free group events and the social feeling of the common room led to me meeting and spending time with lots of fellow travellers. There are also lots of perks - a communal fridge, microwave, and kitchen cutlery, free tea/coffee, free drinking water, complimentary slippers for the duration of the stay, a postcard mailing service, towels available for rent, and beer available for purchase. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms, both private and common, are very clean and smell nice. The bed was comfortable and between the lockers and bed, I had plenty of space for my things. There's a full bathroom in the hostel room and additional common bathrooms. The bedrooms were nice and quiet.
There was shower gel and shampoo available in the room shower but no hand soap, so bring your own!

The location is convenient and a quick walk to Ximending. The staff was very helpful in providing travel advice and other relevant information. The room is quiet and the air conditioning was adequate.
Multiple sightings of cockroaches in the lobby area. Bathroom shows aging due to heavy usage and can be cleaner. Mattresses can provide better cushion and support. We wish there are more hooks/racks/storage space in the room.

Good location, clean, nice staff.
Value for money didn’t feel too great; the room had no windows and would’ve been cramped for 3 ppl (it was a triple room and there were 2 of us). Rooftop, at least during our stay, was quite unlike the photos (a few hard benches and tables) – felt a bit like a missed opportunity.

Staff was helpful, the facilities were great for travelers, but also really nice for someone who just missed the last train home. Even though I was in a room with other people I had plenty of privacy and access to a bathroom whenever I needed it.

Meander is a ten minute walk from the nearest metro station , and that is one stop from the main rail station, the transport hub of the city. that makes it well located. All the bedding was very clean and changed regularly...and there is a great communal space on the ground floor, with free self-service tea and coffee 24/7 which is a good meeting area. Reception staff are helpful and friendly, the place is secure...and open 24/7.
A coffee shop serving breakfast on site....or attached to the hostel, would be a bonus. The rooms with six bunk beds are pretty small, there's no locker space in the rooms...and the charging point by my bed didn't charge.

Loved my time at Meander Hostel Taipei. Super clean, comfy beds with privacy, and a great social vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great place to meet people and relax — would definitely stay again!
The only downside is the location — Taipei Main Station is a good 15-minute walk and Ximen MRT station is like 10 mins away, which isn't fun with heavy bags or late arrivals. But once you're there, getting around is easy.
