This is hands down the most carefully designed B&B I have seen in Taiwan, and I've seen a lot. The staff is very helpful. All communication is done online via LINE or WhatsApp, so make sure you check your messages there. There was no breakfast included. The nearest 7-Eleven is a 10-minute walk, but you can stock up ahead and use the well-equipped kitchen in the morning. The living room is very nice to have, as well as the water dispenser with a selection of tea packages. Everything just works, so if my room wasn't such a disaster, I would probably give this B&B a wholehearted recommendation.
I can't speak for other rooms, but stay away from the Phoenix Room (鳳凰城) for god's sake, esp. if you are: 1. taller than 175 cm (the beams are at this height, so you would bump your head at every turn), 2. claustrophobic (the room feels like an underground cellar with just one fake window), or 3. want to sleep in (this is the only ground floor room in the building, right opposite the entrance, so the early birds at the B&B may wake you up VERY early). The B&B has a lot of wooden structural parts, so the noise travels quickly. In fact, Phoenix is the newest room and seems like an afterthought. I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone to stay in Phoenix.

Located in a nice local neighbourhood with lots of restaurants. Staff was very friendly. Nice design of the room. Beautiful bathroom.
Some staff could not speak English. The bed was above the living area, and I had to bend a little due to the low ceiling (I'm 1.90m tall)

Very authentic japense style room and experience. Love the vibes of the place. The room was Spacious and low beds very comfortable.
The stairs are bit small to move up and down. Have to be careful while walking.

Slow Tainan feels much more intimate and warm than a standard hotel. The room was incredible -- a dining area with a Japanese-style table and two big beds in a lofted upper floor area. The room's japanese-themed decor was so lovely. There are many different lights in the room to get the perfect lighting and plenty of space to fit several people and luggage. Two windows that can be opened for more air and to see the alley below. This was one of four hotels I stayed in during this trip and it was far and away the best.
The location isn't terrible but it's not the best. It's tucked awkwardly into an alley and there's one Family Mart close by. Also upon entering, the hotel's hallways are a little tight and maze-like and it's a little difficult to find the room. Also the halls and stairs are so tight getting big luggage around is a little hard. Also in my room the shower had a curtain but it hung about a foot off the floor so after a shower the entire bathroom floor was wet for hours. Also there's basically no countertop space in the bathroom for toiletries.

1. Room with sofa, TV, bathroom & toilet is big and clean.
2. Very convenient, near to train station, bus station and food store in walking distance.
3. Provide free filtered water, coffee, tea, biscuit, instant noodle, chocolate, etc.
Aircon is not cold. Should service it often.
