The caretakers did not exceed my expectations in being hospitable. The ones that they showed here were not the same room and accommodation that it promised. They even wanted us to "pay extra per night" for the room with windows, and for all I know I thought that was already given to even have windows with a view at the room. One of the caretakers also talked a bit rudely to us. Not much people were staying there. Room wise, it didn't have any heater for the room. So even though the airconditioning and everything else were turned off, we were freezing to death. Breakfast wise, we thought they were going to serve it downstairs on their dining table and share the space with us. Instead, they gave it to us on a take out bag instead. Breakfast options had only 2 choices as well. If breakfast option could even be opted out, I think the price of the stay could've been even cheaper. Price wise, it was not at all worth it. Inside the monster village were also a couple of hotels you could consder, such as the M Village. I would suggest that more than this.

Well, it was really not nice. First, they did not respond to my messages via Booking. So, a local friend had to call them. Second, it seems to me that the owner wants English speaking customers via Booking but is unwilling to provide them with decent service. During my stay, the owner and one of her employees’ attitude was rude and disrespectful, for example, while check-in the owner tried to tap my credit card. It did not work immediately, and the owner raised her voice in a bit aggressive way demanding me to go to the ATM (it was after one attempt only, while I was trying to tell her I needed to add my secret PIN in order to complete the payment). It was not the last time that she, or one of her employees, raised their voice rudely when answering a very simple question such as “Do you have a cold water tap?” When I pointed out their tone, the employee apologized (but not the owner). Third, and the most disturbing. I do not eat eggs. I told them that. Since it is a serious matter for me when traveling I always keep with me a note saying in the local language what are my food restrictions. I showed them my note. It seems like they understood it. They said they would make me a breakfast that would not include eggs. Yet in the morning I received an Omelet?!?! At that point, I was upset. I went to the employee and asked her why she served me an omelet although yesterday I showed her my note she said sorry but then offered me a boiled egg… I was truly puzzled: it was either she could not read (the note worked everywhere in Taiwan), which is not a problem in itself, or she did not care. Both options are somewhat problematic when providing service. In the afternoon I tried to talk to the owner, but she just walked away. I gave up. Needless to say, they did not check if I would like something else for breakfast and I had my breakfast somewhere else although I paid for it.

The shower temperature and shower is not good

Our room faced the street so noises from street is inevitable. It was an residential house convert to a B&B so there is not elevator for my elderly parents, and brining large luggages up can be very challenging. The owner is a an elderly lady, so if you don't speak Chinese, communication can be difficult. She was not always there at the front desk was also tricky. I wish there was a bell or extension so communication can be easier.

My experience at the homestay was disappointing. The noise from the upstairs party disrupted my rest, and when I reported it to the owner, they refused to take action, suggesting that I handle it with the other guests myself. On the second day of my stay, the cups and bathroom were not cleaned, resulting in an unpleasant environment. The breakfast provided differed from what was advertised on the booking website, consisting only of a beverage and a meal (which I found to be insufficient). On the day of departure, the owner started using a vacuum cleaner to clean the premises two hours before the scheduled checkout time, disturbing my rest. I hope the homestay can make improvements to provide a better accommodation experience.
