Very Poor
Would not recommend this hotel, only saving grace was it had a kids play area.
The rooms were filthy. Hair was everywhere. This is completely unacceptable and nowhere near 5-star standards.
The property markets itself as luxury, but the overall experience barely qualifies as 3-star. Service was disorganized and careless.
Reaching room service from the room was unnecessarily difficult. Basic hospitality infrastructure seems broken.
A 30 percent surcharge is imposed on food orders after 9:30 PM, even though some menu items are only available after that time. This feels exploitative, not premium.
We were given a floor-bed room at check-in. When we requested a normal bed, we were quoted $8000 extra for two nights. Within minutes, the price jumped to $9500. That kind of arbitrary pricing feels dishonest and opportunistic.
Charging extra for basic items like shower caps to use the pool is petty and embarrassing for a hotel claiming 5-star status.
Elevator wait times exceeded 15 minutes. With a stroller and children, we were forced to take the stairs. Completely unacceptable for a supposedly luxury property.
The entire stay felt overpriced, poorly managed, and deeply disappointing.
We would strongly advise others to avoid this hotel.

Stayed 3 nights. The level of customer service was exceptional. I am vegetarian and when they saw I didn't like one of special meals they made for me, they noticed and came over to see what they could make for me. The facilities were all top notch. The location was great with an exceptional view of the lake. Being right at a bus stop and getting free bus passes was very handy. Getting breakfast and dinner included was very convenient.
This might have been the most expensive hotel I ever stayed at. I had mountain view which didn't even come close to a lake view room. After arriving, I saw there were a lot of other hotels that had fantastic views, but were a fraction of the cost. An upgrade to a lake view room would have been roughly an additional $250 USD/night. Even though the facilities were fantastic, I would have preferred to stay at a reasonably priced hotel with acceptable facilities but a fantastic view from the room.

Fantastic location with gorgeous view and amazing facilities. Really wonderful food at the restaurants including the breakfast/dinner buffets. Probably one of the best hotel buffets I’ve ever had.
The automated lights/scenes in the rooms. It was impossible to turn off lights the way we needed to in order for let our daughter sleep first. Also, opening the door automatically triggered the lights turning on in the hallway with no way to turn them off.

Disappointing
The rooms are nice and includes all what you need. I liked the water machine and that they use glass jars to let you fill based on you likings. They have sparkling and still water. It tastes amazing.
Its very difficult to communicate issues as staff doesn't understand English.
Rooms include breakfast and dinner. However the italian restaurant quality is so bad and has nothing to do with real Italian food. The buffet is much better. Staff at resturant are very rude and didnt qccompany my request sayin FF they will come back and rhey bever did. They served ny appetizer and soon the main dish after without me finishing the firsr dish. This is not a fine dining experience to mqtch the level.
The proce is so gigh and not justified. They even tried to charge me much more for another room only to find its so noisy with music rubning all night. This caused my sheadache till i was able to communicate the issue which has been resolved and my original room was set. The sunmoonlake in general lacks facilities and good food / atores. So just keep this in mind.

Excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner with multiple cuisine options including Japanese sashimi, whole spit roasted pork. Limited restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. Bus stop outside the hotel. Hotel provides free shuttle bus to and from the hotel/train station/bus stop plus a free bus pass for travel around the lake. Room included large sunken hot bath with a view. Close to around the lake walkway with well maintained walking/biking tracks. Boat rides across the lake.

Excellent stay, felt very welcomed and attended to. Loved that there was a games room available to use, room was very clean, view beautiful. We purchased breakfast & dinner too and it was very handy that we could eat within the premise and then head out. There is a bus stop opposite of the hotel so it made it convenient to catch one to travel around the lake. The mini bar had drinks that were all included for free. The hot spring tub in the hotel room was very relaxing. Thank you for accommodating for us! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Little touches like contacting us when the room is ready for check in, suggesting places to visit, being attentive to our requirements.

A la carte dinner was good but expensive. I was disappointed with the restaurants in town actually so the hotel was the best option. I was too busy to enjoy the pool and spa, but it made a hood impression

Lovely stay! Pricey but you get the 5 star experience. Hotel had bus picked us up from the high speed rail and drove us to hotel and back. Staff was professional and helpful. Modern hotel, very nice amenities. One of the nicest hotel we have been to. Our package had breakfast and dinner included at the buffet. The food was delicious. Breakfast is served until 12 so you can come in/out as often as you want so we went in a second time around 11 to get some food as a early lunch. Pool/hot spring area was very nice! Need a swim cap. View from hotel was gorgeous. Good walk trail around the lake from the hotel.
Location was a little far from main city so can't really walk around to get other food. Can get taxi or hotel has a shuttle that goes to the town twice per day.
