The hotel is nicely located and having the benefits of the 24 hours reception, with a very friendly staff behind the counter. The room is well equipped, with a classic hotel-room setting, and the location is walkway distance from the train station.
The hotel is old, and the air felt definitely damp and unpleasant. The older reviews mention smell of cigarettes, which wasn't present in the room, so they obviously tried to improve the air quality. I have seen room cleaning every day, but even as a very easy-going guest, I had difficulties to feel comfortable. The bed and bedding was clean, but the room could definitely use some deep cleaning, I even found leftover used plastic utensils in the drawer, and the toilet was leaking on the side too. When you book a room and the pictures show a small window covered with curtains, that won't necessary mean that it is window with sunlight, as mine was blocked from sunlight.

Convenient location. One block from the train station. Amenities: tooth brush, razor, shampoo, comb, coffee & tea, refrigerator. Clean the room everyday. Quiet and very clean. Receptionist 24 hours. Big t.v., wi-fi, air conditioning. Speak English. Check- out and check- in are better than other places. Very good value for the price.

Amazing location, right by main station and like a 17 minute walk from the huge Liuhe night market. Super cheap laundry, like $1 or so!
The man who works nights at the front desk was not welcoming or friendly at all. It didn't make me feel good to be there. But to be fair, he still did his job. Also, super thin walls, you will hear your neighbors extremely easily. But good value for money, who cares.

The location is good as it’s close to Kaohsiung station
We were initially given a room on the 3rd floor, it had no window which was NOT listed on the room or its facilities when I booked, as I would never have booked a room without a window. It actually ‘City View’ on the listing but this was far from it. We also noticed the room had a really bad stench of cigarette smoke, as did a lot of the areas of this hotel. Given the lack of window to ventilate the room this was even bigger problem for us. They refused to move us that night stating the whole place was full which just was not true as we barely saw any other guests and this hotel has 7 floors with at least 10 rooms on each floor. I believe they just wanted us to go away and forget it. They then proceeded to take some machine and chemical spray to the room to ‘treat’ the smoke smell and promised me in 10 minutes the smells will be gone. We all know the smell of cigarettes can’t be treated in 10 minutes. Also it was concerning what chemical they were putting in our room when the room has no window so no access to natural air, so what we would be breathing in that night really worried me. As expected when we returned to the room the smoke smell was back. We reluctantly beared it that night and the next day we demanded a room change for our remaining 2 nights and compensation for the night we spent in that awful room. I want to emphasise that we had no idea we would get a windowless room, they clearly don’t state it and if you book a room here you stand a 50% chance of a windowless room as half of the building does not have windows. I want to mention that both the rooms we were given, the first windowless room and the second room with a window, were dirty and dusty. The bedding was not a fresh bright white it all had a look about it of discolouration and stains, like they are old and done in and not being washed enough. There were dead bugs and blood splats on some areas and it just felt all a bit gross.
