The host Arlene is amazing and I am very thankful for her making our vacation well spent

I had a blast staying at Maracas Gardens during Carnival, and if you’re looking for a cozy retreat just outside Port of Spain (about 30 to 45 minutes from the city center), this is your perfect haven. Arlene, the owner, is a total gem—so kind, so welcoming, and absolutely determined to make sure you feel at home. Her family is equally as warm. Whether you’re a Carnival goer or just seeking a peaceful Trinidad escape, this place is perfect—especially with its own private pool. When I ran into costume mishaps or transportation hiccups, Arlene was right there helping me troubleshoot — even when it wasn’t her responsibility. Arlene also by created special breakfast options, tailored to my dietary preferences. If you want a blend of Carnival magic, serene vibes, and a family that feels like friends, book Maracas Gardens. We will always stay in touch with Arlene and her family—they have truly become like lifelong friends to us.

The host, Arlene was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were HUGE and diverse. The accommodation itself is very spacious and the pool is lovely as is the surrounding area. I had everything I needed while staying there and really appreciated the basket of snacks and the provision of milk for making tea. It's the little things! Arlene was also so kind to drop me off to the hummingbird centre nearby when I was struggling to find a ride which I really appreciate! Which is another tip, the only thing close by is the Yerette hummingbird centre where you can see many species of hummingbirds up close and personal.

Communication was great with Arlene and she gave us options for breakfast as well as time we wanted to have it.

I love everything about the room. The mountains and valleys in the morning hours were beyond pretty. I recommend that for family.

Breakfast was awesome, we really appreciated Arlene making a vegan option as well. The pool, the ambiance, top notch. Will be booking again.

The place is perfect for a quiet and peaceful environment and experience. I love the friendly and welcoming attitude of all staff. Excellent.

I liked everything, It was up in the hills, secluded and quiet, in a gated community. The pool felt great to swim in, the room was real nice and comfortable. Arlene and her family greeted me with open arms and hugs. They also assisted in placing a food order for dinner to be deliver on my behalf. They made a simple breakfast-to-go since my flight left in the morning, it was delicious. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to any one! Thank you Arlene and Family!

Breakfast was fantastic

Stunningly positioned spacious residence nestled between two steep/ mountains. An idyllic setting where the flora and fauna are almost indistinguishable. The pool area perfectly aligned with the movement of the sun...and the moon! Safe and clean within a gated community. Every morning we were offered up a culinary surprise that didn't disappoint. Attentive hosting. Thank you Arlene and family.

What a great place to stay made exceptional by our hosts Arlene and Randy, who collected us from the airport. They are really friendly and gave helpful information to us who’ve not been to Trinidad before. The room was huge with efficient air con and well equipped - fridge, oven, cutlery, etc. And there’s a pool to enjoy! Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it.

The Valley Oasis is indeed an oasis, away from the hustle-bustle of the traffic that extends from Port of Spain through St. Joseph. We enjoyed the friendly owner, the quiet area next to the pool to have breakfast (and look for hummingbirds), and the spacious room with good a/c and wifi. The enjoyed all our breakfasts, which were generous and tasty. The room had a kitchenette and we found food either at the supermarket or the mall to bring back and heat up. The area is gated and upscale, so it is safe to take a walk even though we stand out as non-locals.

Property has a beautiful garden, it’s in a quiet and secure gated community. Amazing views from the garden and a beautiful garden to have breakfast in every day.
