The quirky décor of the hotel and the room was large, very comfortable and clean. There is easy access to the beach, beach towels and mats are provided and great choice of restaurants within the hotel and nearby. The staff are all brilliant.

Absolutely beautiful property
Was not provided with much information was mostly just pushed to use the app. Had extremely loud neighbors above us and tried to use the app to let the front desk know that they were very noisy for nearly 2 hours in the evening and then again very early in the morning and no one responded and then the app said that it was off-line:(. Asked for bikes twice and did not get them although the occupancy rate seemed extremely low on the property.

This is our 5th stay at the Slate, location to the airport is excellent, the staff are always amazing, the breakfast is great value & we always love the rooms
Only remark regarding the room would be the generator / AC unit outside was quite loud on this stay which is the only negative comment

Fantastic location, 5 minutes from airport but walk out the back gate and you are right on the beach amid a beautiful and quiet seaside village that has everything you could possibly need. Grounds are huge and amazing and plenty of wonderful pool areas and on sight restaurants. All of the staff were fantastic.
We had a private pool villa, not that private with low fence at rear with gardeners walking by at any time of the day, also pool cleaner would come in unannounced to clean pool. Private pool and rear yard was always in shade with cover over pool and extended verandah for privacy from upper floors so not good for sunbaking.

Most relaxing hotel was above expectation. Super friendly staff. Was very comfortable 1 night stay before travel. Hotel themed in a very mechanical design, which is very eye catching and interesting. Will visit again definitely. Thank you all staff for making it a pleasant stay for us.
1) Hotel has great awareness about celiac disease offers selection of gluten free foods.
2) hotel prepared mini gifts for our kids was so nice.
3) we were giving free drinks token at check in that we used in the restaurant.
4)hotel allowed us to check out at 5:00 pm with no extra charge, As our flight was late.
Restaurant food is soo yummy.
Hotel has beach access and many other activities that we missed due to tight timing.
I only request one thing: to offer to leave kids under 4 years old with babysitter at the kids play this will be a wish come true. As children under 4 should be with parents. Even if you make it as chargeable option to pay for hourly babysitter services.

The hotel has many facilities like multiple pools, gym, spa, and restaurants and very close to the beach which was very helpful for us.
There were many things that disappointed me, I picked this resort based on many reviews and research I did before booking. I was looking for a resort that has many facilities, with best breakfast and best spa. It was disappointing on many levels. The breakfast was very very normal and below average. Sometimes the honey would be full of insects and the staff do not care. They used to use the left over bread from previous day the next day and saw this many times because i was the first person to go to breakfast early morning. The room was full of bugs and insects even though i did not open the windows or door. some of the rooms are very old and need refurbishment. They do not replenish toiletries as needed like shower gel. The spa is very expensive because of the setting and the huts but it is not worth it.

Breakfast was amazing and the location was great but most important thing of all the staff was phenomenal 100/100. The attentive and friendly staff team stood out more than the property itself and the property is beautiful.

Really lovely and beautifully set up resort. The rooms are really nice and spacious. The resort has many pools which are really peaceful atmosphere, a few restaurants which served really delicious food and across a great beach.
Every taxi ride we asked the front desk to call for us was overpriced because they call really large and luxurious cars for no reason. Would have been nice for the front desk to arrange a normal taxi, which is a lot cheaper.

Second visit to The Slate in the past two months. Positive Experiences:
Hotel: Great location (10 min transfer from the airport). Awesome staff with authenticity make your stay memorable. Restaurant facilities are impeccable. Black Ginger is the epitome of Asian fine dining cuisine. The head chef made the effort to introduce herself and gave me recipe suggestions.
Surrounding Area: Beach is very close by. All with local amenities from laundry, ATMs and connivence stores. Beach towels are available to use on the beach provide by the Slate staff. Therefore, no need to pack. Nice beach restaurants with an abundance of culinary dishes to cater for dietary requirements. One word of caution, if you have any intolerance to salt. Consider eating in the Slate restaurant.
The feedback provided in the document highlights several points that need to be addressed to improve the overall experience:
Beds: The beds are at the end of their life. The mattress is too soft, and the toppers are useless. For someone who suffers from back issues, this tainted the stay. It is recommended to replace them with quality firm mattresses to match the premium charge. This was raised to the stay and pre/prior our stay and the housekeeping team did a tremendous job to help. However, this comment is aimed towards the management team to remediate
Mosquitos: There was an influx of mosquitos, and it seems that no fogging was done in the surrounding areas. This might be due to environmental regulations. However, this had a profound effect
Room: The room is dated and needs renovation. Installing bi-fold doors would modernize the room, make it more accessible for those with disabilities, and prevent mosquitos from entering through gaps in the current timber frame 3.
Outside Area: The outside bathtub is considered pointless and a waste of space. The roof covering the pool limits sunlight, casting a dark shadow across area and blocking natural light. The patio/garden furniture is worn and needs replacing. The garden area requires modernization to maximize space and provide practicality with aesthetic appeal
The feedback concludes with a hope that the suggestions are received positively, and actions are taken to improve the experience.
