Anantara Mai Khao Vacation Club offers a truly wonderful vacation experience. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with every modern amenity, including a washing machine and dryer for added convenience. The property is excellently maintained with lush surroundings and a calm ambiance. Hospitality from the staff is exceptional, ensuring comfort throughout the stay. Guests can enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, while the kids club keeps children happily engaged. Breakfast options are diverse and delicious.
Only minor wear and tear noticed in a few areas of the room, otherwise the property and overall experience were excellent.

The bathroom had a horrible smell, it smelt like sewage was coming up through the pipes. The shower had no door and water was getting out all over the place. It was low season and it seemed like they were short staffed, it took them awhile to clean up trash. Public restroom had feces all over the toilet, had no paper towels for awhile. The staff was often times very slow (cleaning, house keeping, buggy pick up) was all very slow - I can’t imagine staying here when it’s busy season. Beach was full of trash.

The villa was great and the property was very clean and well maintained. Also, the breakfast staffs were professional.
Overall the experience didn’t felt like 5 star specially due to the inconsistent service. To start with, the check in was slow. The dinner at poolside restaurant was very unorganized, we had to remind several times for our order including water and utensils, which made the experience unpleasant. During our stay of 6 nights, the housekeeping was done at 5 different times anywhere between 11 am to 4 pm. As we were with small kids, it was not convenient to manage with their schedule. The buggy service was also slow. It felt like the hotel was under staffed and not trained enough. Furthermore, the pool is not that great and kids club is small and needs refurbishing. Also, there are 2 Anantaras in the same location - Anantara Mai Khao villas and Anantara vacation club and it is very confusing which facilities are shared and which are not. We could eat at restaurants and put it at our room and use the shuttle service but couldn’t use the pool or the beach.

recently stayed at this hotel and booked a two-bedroom villa, which was absolutely amazing. The accommodation itself and the facilities were incredibly kid-friendly, making for a pleasant family stay. The staff was helpful and eager to assist, which added to our positive experience.
However, our breakfast experience was less than ideal. Despite having paid for breakfast when booking our room, we found the restaurant atmosphere quite unpleasant due to a persistent bad smell. Additionally, the breakfast offerings were not what we expected, with about 70% of the menu consisting of items not typically considered breakfast fare, such as crab curry. Furthermore, there were extra charges for the kids’ activities, which we thought could have been included in the stay.

Great rooms.
We had 2 bed villa with pool, so kids loved it.
Excellent main pool too with movies on some nights.
Breakfast selection was huge and variable on 5 days that we were there
Dislike: 1 hour away from Phuket town.

Anantara was the best out if three hotels we stayed in Phuket this winter (Twinpalms Montazure, Sala Phuket).
We booked One Bedroom Villa with pool which has been upgraded to Two Bedroom Villa with pool. Villa was amazing, two nice bedrooms with two bathrooms and very comfortable kitchen with everything there (including washing and drying machines). Gifts for kids was a great surprise ?
Pool in the villa was perfect, good size and warm water. Really enjoyed chilling there. Also it was arranged properly, with almost no risk that kids can fall down into the pool.
Service deserves special praise: all the care and support were done very fast by WhatsApp, buggy service has been provided going to the beach or to the Turtle Village, and you can even request it going back to the hotel. Everyone was smiling and caring about the guests.
Kids club and kids pool were also on a good level.
Breakfasts were also great, despite we had to wait for our table. Seven-Eleven shop and pharmacy was just in the same building which is super nice!

Great place for family. Pool, kids club, activities.
There is not much to do outside the hotel. There are some restaurants, so you don’t have to eat at the hotel everyday. Although hotel provides some free shuttles to Phuket town and Patong Beach. You probably will stuck in traffic for half of the day for a return trip. So not an ideal place to explore Phuket. A great resort to relax though.
