Wonderful
What sets this place apart is the fantastic room with a sea-view pool, along with sufficient cleaning and maintenance, a superb spa, and a lively restaurant and bar that keeps everyone entertained. Its a great spot for couples, especially when the weather is on your side.
Sadly, during our three-day stay, the weather wasnt great, which seemed odd considering nearby Choeng Mon had perfect weather.
Venturing out from the hotel is a challenge due to expensive taxis and the distance. Its more of a stay-inside-and-enjoy kind of place.
While the hotel has a beach, it didnt quite live up to expectations not the most inviting. I felt a bit disconnected at the central pool; lying on a sunbed and staring at a wall instead of the sea was a bit odd.
To enhance the tropical feel, they could have a direct connection to the sea from both the rooms and the central area. This means fewer steps and less asphalt, creating a more beautiful and natural setting.

The facilities around the resort are excellent including the swimming pool, gym and spa treatments. The sea view rooms have a nice panoramic view. Very pleasant staff
The rooms are a bit too minimalistic to my liking. Very basic interiors considering it was a deluxe room

Private pool villa was awesome for a romantic getaway. Breakfast was excellent. Lovely beach in a quiet area. And no Kids! In a very quiet area, but free shuttle to Fisherman's Village and Chaweng for more action.
Quite expensive.

The rooms are good, pool is very good.
The stay was disappointing.
We stayed at Explorar for 3 nights. The rooms are good, the pool is amazing yet still had a few problems with our stay:
1. The hotels location isnt close to anything and they really take advantage of that with a ridiculously pricey menu. the prices were 3-4 times higher than usual (pad thai for example is almost 300 bath while outside the hotel is under 100). This obviously affected our experience since we had to go out every time we wanted a snack in a reasonable price. We would expect a bit more from such a hotel, considering how much we paid for our room. It just felt like greediness, and on top of that, for everything you buy they charge you extra 17%(written in really small letters) for service and vat which is the only place in thailand that it happened to us.
2. It felt like the hotel didnt really care about our experience. For example, one day even though we put the clean room light on, our room was not cleaned until we contacted the staff at around 16:00, and they said its because we woke up at 9:30 which is a normal hour to wake up when youre on vacation.
3. Another example is that we wanted to check the option of a room upgrade when we checked in. They offered us a rate higher at around 150$ than the one we saw on booking and even after we told them its higher than booking they kept offering higher prices.
4. Even though they do offer shuttles to some areas, for most days the hours arent really relevant.
5. They dont have any water fountains, except from the water you get in the room you need to buy water.
6. We took the room with plunge pool, the water were very cold and we couldnt really use it.

I would expect much more from a 5 stars hotel. It felt like the staff didnt really care about us nor knew what they were doing to make our experience bett

Beautiful hotel - the team were exceptional and would go above and beyond for you. Pool and beach were fab. Room was spacious and clean. I used the spa whilst there and had a lovely treatment. The hotel provide complimentary activities - we did the mixology and cooking class which were a lot of fun!
Only downside was the location when wanting to explore local places to eat - saying this the hotel booked us peds which we used to explore the island.

The breakfast was superb, multiple cuisine from coconuts to Thai, continental and American. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Hotel a 400 Baht taxi drive away from Fishermens Village although a comp. Shuttle laid on twice a week. Great little restaurants nearby on the beach - shout out to Nanas. Worth mentioning that the staff have accommodation within the Hotel complex.
I wouldnt say dislike, but the hotel is geared up for couples, an extremely romantic location. As a single occupant, found it a bit quiet after 10pm.
