From the first day the staff was very nice and welcoming. They made our stay even more special because they kept interacting with us and were always helpful.
The breakfast was great with fresh juices and fruits - you have several options from which you can choose beforehand for the next day. This approach is more relaxing than having a buffet breakfast.
The restaurant is also very good - the Pad Thai was especially tasty - although it could have even more Thai food in my opinion, instead of the western cuisine.

This was honestly the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel itself was majestic, with a traditional Thai look which was exceptionally well maintained and very clean. It honestly felt like staying in a palace. It is located in Lamai which means you are guaranteed peace and quiet if that's what you are after. The staff were exceptional and went above and beyond. They were attentive and always on standby to help at all times. You can feel the warmth in all the interactions with them. The breakfast was really good with a plethora of choices to choose from. I cannot fault this hotel at all and would recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat.

A perfect gem... with the best beachfront resort location in Koh Samui.
We loved the pool villa ... very spacious and comfortable with awesome pool, garden and ocean views.
Resort staff were amazing...so caring and top quality food and cocktails.
Resort grounds were beautiful, well maintained and a pleasure to relax in the pools and ocean.
The local Lamai beach shopping is the best quality and value on the island and very clean uncrowded streets...again with friendly locals to make the holiday very special.
Thank you Ammatara pura koh samui. We look forward to next time.

The staff were Amazing, the access to beach was amazing. Allowed me to walk to the beach and chill. But the place needs a lot of improvement. I had a tough time, every single day and something or the other was going wrong. The hotel is worn out and not a five star worth. So, they need to fix a lot of issues.
Day 1: AC didn't work- I went in peak summer (April), though the manager offered to change my room in the middle of the night, I was already settled in and was not ready to move. And hence agreed to fix it the next day. Btw, the team needs to check if everything is working in the room, before handing it over to the customers.
Day 2: Took a couple of hours to replace an AC part outside. Had to be in the room without AC, couldn't sit..so had to leave the room.
Day 3: In the night, power fluctuations and there was no power in the morning. Sleep deprived.
Day 4: The only day I didn't have an issue as I had stepped out for sight seeing.
Day 5: Water started leaking from one of the ACs to the sofa. Informed the team, and they promptly came to fix it.
But you can imagine my horror, I came for a vacation, but 4 out of 5 days were a disappointment. Had to deal with something or the other every single day, which I didn't like. If I had to be fixing AC and water issues, why would I need a vacay? I can do that in my home itself. As much as I really liked the people working over there, this entire experience was not worth the amount I paid. Absolutely disappointed.

We like the traditional Thai design of the villa, it is temple-like, magnificent and grand. We like the outdoor shower, it is relaxing to have a cool shower outdoor on a hot day. We like the quietness and helpfulness of the dining hall, we enjoyed our breakfast there.
Staying for two weeks, there weren't enough breakfast choices. Some of the furnishings were tired/loose. The air-conditioning was loud. We only used the jacuzzi once because it took 3 hours to fill up half-way and the pipes were quite dirty. No lighting on the steps with a big slap of wood in the middle of the stairs.

Beach is not welcoming enough, should add chairs or something. Walk to Lamai can be annoying up the hill and too bad there is no shortcut. Some amenities require renovation.

We stayed in the 2-bedroomed beachfront villa and it was outstanding. The whole hotel is like walking within the grounds of an ancient palace. The breakfast every morning was delicious and it was handy that we could WhatsApp our order to the reception rather than completing their form. In fact, the WhatsApp system made our lives very simple. We could not fault any of the staff, they were all lovely and very helpful. Our villa was HUGE and continued with the palace feel - both bedrooms were identical and again HUGE! There were four of us staying and we all had a shower each as there are two in each room. The washing machine came in handy as it meant we weren't packing dirty clothes when we moved on to our next destination. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to EVERYONE at AMMATARA PURA.

Beautiful property, calm and quiet, the staff were superb, especially the staff serving breakfast
We really didnt like the surrounding area - it was intensely touristy and nothing around apart from western restaurants and (seedy) bars. Its quite hard to get around the island (very expensive taxi rates) so we felt a little stuck in Lamai

The villa was huge and very well equipped. The kitchen had a washing machine with detergent provided which was very useful. The bed was comfortable and the air con worked really well. We really enjoyed having our own pool. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before but we didn't mind that. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The plants / trees around the grounds of the hotel were delightful and very well looked after.

The whole resort is incredible and truly spoilt by all the staff. Steve on reception (English) is so knowledgable and a real asset to the rest of the crew. Villas are amazing and very clean. Breakfast is incredible and so worth it.

Great location, amazing staff with massive rooms with everything you could want. Even managed to wash our clothes before we went home. Cocktails and evening meals are good value. Would definitely come back. Breakfast was outstanding. I prefer A la carte over buffet and it did not disappoint. Try the pancakes and waffles Would definitely come back again.x
It would be beneficial to update the plug sockets in the rooms with usb sockets. The rain shower and shower head could do with replacing but these are just minor things. Minor things, there is some general maintenance that could be performed, signs of wear and tear on some building features, pool tiles missing and some of the sunbed covers are more worn than others.
