Tamarind guesthouse is a prime location, floating houses on the river. From your patio you can jump into the river and swim to the other side.
I checked in around 5 pm. At 6 pm across the river 2 live bands startet playing and a one place played loud techno with a lot of bass. At 23 I called the policy but it went on. At 2 am I called the police again. And at 3.30 they stopped playing music. They do this every evening. If you like to pay for noise, choose a river front bumgalow - noise is for free and after a sleepless night you might enjoy some sightseeing.

Everything! The location was central for walking, but away from the busy street so very quiet. The facilities were extremely clean and comfortable. We loved the comunal area for eating. It was a beautiful view of the river. We booked a double with a fan and we were so happy to have operable windows with screens. The fan was perfect, not too loud and very efficient. We hardly needed hot water because the weather had us wanting cold, but there was an easy to use hot water system for the shower. Free refillable drinking water, coffee and chocolate in the morning was also deeply appreciated. The hosts were available if we needed anything but left us to do our own thing. They really respected our privacy in their space. The value was perfect for what we received. One of the BEST stays weve had on Booking.

Lovely quirky accommodation- basic but that reflects on the price, staying in a raft over the river was an experience. Id recommend paying the extra for air con rafts as it was hot, Walls are very thin - 1st night neighbours talked all night; 2nd night very peaceful. Staff very accommodating and welcoming. Checked in early and left our bags for a couple of hours in storage.

Mind blowing view on the river, and you can admire the view which is as beautiful at night than during the day, from the terrace. Also very good location, its next form the Main Street but remains very calm.
The bathroom was kinda dirty (there was some gecko (I guess) excrement on the wall) and the shower head was capricious.

Good value, pretty good comfort , stayed in the river room with AC, you actually just need a room with fan, it is enough. Location is really great ,just in the middle of all bars, resturants. I would give them a 3 star if you consider all things, like location,staff, cleaness, room Room is ok but very spartan, I think they all are if you want to stay in a guesthouse and not hotel Room by the river is a 2 star living, but ok for 2-3 nights maximum

I spent seven nights in a room on the raft house. Such an incredible view of the river and mountains in the distance. My stay was very peaceful and relaxing. The room was basic, but it had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Hiring a moped through the guesthouse was as easy as pie. I was even collected at the entrance by the rental business. Just outside the accommodation is a 7/11 and many bars and restaurants are around that location too. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, amazing location, I can certainly recommend the Tamarind to anyone wishing to visit Kanchanaburi.

It's only a 10 min walk to the river. We had a nice and pleasant stay. The staff even arranged a scooter and a saleng for us. I think that might arrange trips too, but we didn't do that.
The facilities are pretty basic. They don't provide any toiletries apart from two soap bars. But then we paid only 600 a night (off season), so I'm not complaining at all! I wish the room had another desk or stool.

The room was fine, for The price, The Young Man on reception, although He couldnt speak much English was a Star, ! I would recommend this Guest House to anyone, It was just lovely, I am coming back next April, and will book again. ! Thank You Tamarind.
Nothing could have been better, Couldnt fault it.
