I’ll start by saying this may partly be on me for not checking every detail in advance, but I genuinely didn’t realize the hotel has no beach access. For a stay that cost nearly $2,000 for a week, coming here only to swim in a pool makes no sense. Nowhere in the listing (at least not clearly) did it say there is no beach, and once I arrived I honestly didn’t understand what I was supposed to do here or why I came.
I booked a villa with a private pool, but it ended up being almost useless. The pool was extremely cold all the time, so it wasn’t comfortable to swim in, and it was also constantly dirty because of the plants/trees around it — debris kept falling in.
On top of that, the villa was full of insects and small animals: lizards, caterpillars, spiders, bugs, and I even found a spider in my bed. This was very unpleasant and not what I expect at this price level.
Overall, this was an absolutely not worth it experience and felt like a wasted vacation. I left very disappointed.

We really enjoyed the privacy in our villa . Large open spaces with big doors and widows . The decor was lovely and gave me the island vibes without going too far from Bangkok.
It was quite far from restaurants and shopping . Where we normally just walk to our destination it was a bit challenging.

We liked that it was pet friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Very private and quiet. Great areas to walk, the fitness center was adequate. 2 on site restaurants, both very good. Bank, who checked us in, was awesome, our house keeper was awesome. Actually, all the staff was awesome, if not intimidated by some guests. Plenty of free drinking water in your room is provided. The managers are of different nationalities and all speak great English. Great kid activities.
We soon realized the "pet friendly" areas were pushed off in a corner where views could not be enjoyed. What was "pet friendly" (see photo) for days of our stay (we sat, ate, enjoyed, along with other pet guest in this nice are to enjoy the sea) were suddenly NOT pet friendly because a single guest complained (the manager later told me this French man had been there for over a month, and was a frequent guest, so obviously spent much more money than we did). So, it ruined my stay because I had to sit in this area with the mosquitoes and look at the wall or the stage with just a glimpse of the ocean (see other photo). They do provide mosquito spray. Side note, we keep our dog in her carry bag in eating areas. The pet fee is high per day. 1500 thb which is about 45 USD. You do get one nice meal with this and an area to let the pets exercise. There was a bed, and bowls in the room for our dog.They also have a spa and pet sitting for and additional fee.
I would have overlooked some things if the pet incident hadn't happened. Like the battery in our door lock needed to be reset twice, my dog's meal was forgotten twice, the scent on the bed linens was very strong. And there is not a beach. Yes, the property is ocean front, but you won't be walking on the beach.

We had a generally pleasant stay at Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin and there were several things we truly appreciated. The resort is calm, private, and relaxing. The villas are spacious and comfortable, and the atmosphere is peaceful and suitable for families. The staff deserve a special thank you — they were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. Any time we needed assistance, someone arrived to our villa within 5 minutes, which was truly impressive. Also, we really appreciated that the bathrooms are equipped with hose options suitable for Arab guests. The in-room bathtub was also large and comfortable, which added to the relaxing experience.
However, there are some areas that need improvement considering the resort’s premium level. Although the villa had three televisions, there were no Arabic channels and no ability to connect to YouTube, Netflix, or other streaming services — something that is expected nowadays in 2025. The breakfast was also limited and repetitive, and unfortunately there were no clear halal food options available, which would be very important for Muslim guests.
Another challenge we faced was mosquitoes inside the villa. Although the hotel provided spray, it was not enough to fully manage the issue and it did affect our sleep, especially for the kids. Since the resort is nature-based, better preventive measures would really help guests feel more comfortable.
Overall, we enjoyed the calm atmosphere, the privacy, the friendliness of the staff, the quick service, and some thoughtful facilities. With improvements in technology, breakfast variety, halal options, and stronger pest control, this resort has the potential to offer an excellent experience.

The ocean pool was amazing! The hotel is perfect for kids.
All the staff is very attentive in particular,
Peem at Kampu restaurant was superb!
Even the hotel was almost empty, the service at the restaurant was slow and they couldn’t find babysitting for us.
They advertised ice cream service to the room but the bike was broke when we were there.

We stayed at a villa with a private pool. The villas are great but don’t have any view neither to the hotel’s beautiful gardens nor the beach. We lacked the view.

This resort exudes Peace and Tranquility. The level of service from Joey, the manager and his whole team was exceptional. We had the most amazing time and nothing was ever too much trouble. The views out to sea were stunning and the rooms we had were huge.

I feel it needs to be cleaned and renovated , you can tell from the rooms and bathrooms it’s over consumed . Very tiny details needs to be focused on . There was no hot shower and the water tap for the hot water wasn’t even working .

No real beach, the hotel design is strange - parking lot is narrow you have to drive to the very end to turn around, the entrance path to the room from parking lot is like a garbage trash place weird design, we were quite shocked when the golf car drove us with luggage to enter the first day. There’s no single trash bin in the whole room (we book a one bedroom villa pool) only one in the toilet? The pool engine is unnecessary loud at night. The 10% discount was not applied to the room service food&beverage orders, could have been more clear in the beginning. Some staff are very indifferent and never look at you nor say hi when we cross the path, quite unusual for a 5star.
