Very Good
We really liked the place, beautiful room with balcony, swimming pool, relaxed atmosphere, possibility to use a fridge.
The location was a bit further away from Chiang Mai than we thought.

For a 11years old child who lives in one of Chinese big cities and haven't experienced such things like COUNTRYSIDE LIFE or INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY,the Golden Teak Home Resort is definitely the ideal option.
The host of the resort ---Marcel, is hospitable, talkative and keen on the local culture of Thai and knows lots about history of countries all around the world, so wherever you're from (as long as you can speak English) ,you can easily fall into a pleasant chat with him and be friends. Also, he has lots of experience about good places for visit or meals, so he is definitely a reliable and trustworthy guide.
A Thai food cooking lesson in Marcel's farm with his friend is the most enjoyable experience I `ve had in my journey . From picking and washing foods to chatting while enjoying the local Thai meal, it's what LIFE truly is. We will always be working hard for something, but you always need to find happiness in live. Chinese people, especially ones from big cities, need to learn that life can be just as great without so much worrying. Sometimes, RELAX and ENJOY are the true lifestyle of happiness.
The hotel is also perfect, and is mostly built by teak wood. Marcel told me that the resort were built by himself. With its big swimming pool, its perfect design, its beautiful decorations and the luxuriant plants all around and inside the hotel, it’s hard to believe what he said. Also, people were kind and our room is great.

This place was the perfect choice for a stay to be near the gym I was training at. I looked forward to the breakfast on the days I could make it between sessions - I loved the scrambled eggs!
Marcel went above and beyond to organise myself and the other guests for sightseeing and any activities. My only regret is not making enough time for myself to enjoy the beautiful pool. I will be back on my next visit.
If I could redo anything about my stay, I would've planned more towards maybe hiring a motorbike for any short trips towards the city. Marcel also organised a taxi for full day trips though too, so didn't have too many problems with transport options.

beautiful teak house with 6 guest-rooms. great interior, including indigenous cultural artifacts. marcel, the host, is ethnologist and can tell a lot of interesting stories about south-east asian culture. delicious breakfast, great coffee and tea. friendly staff. free bicycle rental. the accomodation is in a calm resedential area about 20mins drive away from downtown chiang mai. you can get a grab-taxi for around 250 bath
if i would have to change anything, i would take care for a more quiet pool pump.

Disappointing
Good breakfast, nice fresh swiming pool, beautiful plants, spacious room, the terrace by the room was nice, kind crew.
It could once have been a beautiful accommodation, but the best days are long gone (of course except antiques).
The condition and (above all) hygiene does not meet current standards (moldy ceiling, towels were not changed during 4 night stay, toilet paper had to be requested, sticky common areas). No storage spaces, no safe box option.
There is also big and nice pool, unfortunately with no possibilities to lie in the sun.
Last but not least, constant interactions with the owner (and with other guests) are expected as in some kind of community housing.
In addition, the problem with the sticking nail of bench that ruined our clothes was not solved (even no apology, criticism is not accepted).
Expect that the so called resort is really out of town and scooter/taxi is needed on daily basis.

The owner Marcel a German man and his Thai wife and Micky, the son.
Marcel know very well the country and history about different people who leave in the area of Chiang Mai.
We have loved the visit of the farm ,plants shop whish are run by the Marcel’S Wife
A biggest thanks for Mme Noot the women for management bungalow, cooking etc…
Marcel can booked every thing about you want to do.
The resort is little far from Chiang Mai (30 mn) but with Bolt or Grab taxi no problem

Have been to Chiang Mai many times before. But the host shared one of the best description on how to reach the resort from the airport (Thank you Marcel) and thus I got some insights I wasn't even aware of. Smooth check in - I had to arrive rather late but already had friends there who were given instructions for my late arrival. With proper guidance about the area and around the resort, you were able to find your way around. And if you had plants for anything, my friends told me he was very much helpful in organizing anything for an amazing experience with little effort. Or at least provide guidance. Also check out was very seamless - he even organized another taxi ride for our early morning flight.
Honestly, if you look for some non-standard hotel experience and appreciate an expat's guidance and recommencation (with over 30 years of living here), I can truly recommend this place. And definitely have a chat with Marcel. Last note, I am a huge fan of a resort and cafe run by a family and the kindness embrace their guests with. Any time again. Totally worth the few extra miles outside city center.
Ungrateful reviews from other people. And I regret I only stayed for two nights. Would have loved to visit his farm too. And forgot to ask if I was allowed to use some weights and bars I saw in the shop for a quick workout. Next time!

Very Good
A stunning property. Marcel the owner was lovely, picked us up from airport and was happy to help in anyway he could, lent us some pushbike to explore. It is in a village about 30 mins outside Chiang Mai so great for relaxation but probably better suited if you have transport. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful plants everywhere but does mean more mosquitoes. Great pool to cool down and the biggest soft towels provided. Noodle cafe on date. Extremely reasonable.
Wifi wasn't always great and Mozzies

3, private toilet but not in the room you have to go out from share space.

Our stay at the resort was very pleasant. We loved this traditional Thai house and all the greenery around it.
Marcel, the owner, is very friendly and helpful, full of advice on where to go and what to do around Chiang Mai. Also, the staff is very lovely and kind. Teak Resort is located in a very calm area where you can cycle at your leisure through the surrounding villages. Wish we can visit you soon again :)
Everything was fine.

Wonderful
Marcel, the charming, kind and extremely knowledgeable owner of this hidden gem could not do enough to make my stay enjoyable, relaxing and special. He picked me up from the airport at very short notice, helped me buy a SIM card and invited me and some other guests to a trip to the Sunday walking market in Chiang Mai. I didn't have time to take part in the cycle tour of the surrounding villages , nor the cooking class that he arranged for my fellow guests but I'm sure that they would have been very interesting and fun. I especially liked homely atmosphere of the communal breakfast table, the cheerful and attentive staff and the beautiful tropical garden. The homestay had it's own Noodle restaurant and bar and there were a couple of small shops in the village where you could buy beer and snacks so I didn't miss being nearer to Chiang Mai at all.
