The hotel far exceed expectations. The staff were exceptionally kind, and the room was such a peaceful and simple luxury. We wish we had more time in the hotel during our stay, as it was such a nice place.
The only thing that was a little difficult was the walkability to the main area, but it was a short grab over.

I got two single beds and the staff try to pull the sheet cover and put it together. However, I found myself stuck in the middle hole between the bed which is demote my sleeping routine

The infinity pool was fabulous!
The beach in front of the hotel was not clean. There was plastic garbage all about.
The condom mosaics on the food tables are not really necessary. I wondered how this would be for people travelling with teenagers.

Down a very quiet lane Gategaa was a true gem in Chiang Mai. Rooms are modern and spotless. Beds super comfy. Beautiful rooftop pool is immaculate. Great breakfast and wonderful staff. We would stay here anytime! A 10/10 for sure ?
Absolutely nothing! It is outside of old town - about a 15-20 minute walk but that was not a negative for us. In fact it was a positive as there’s lots of restaurants in the area and it’s not as crazy congested as old town.

A beautifully decorated hotel with such a stylish but homely feel! We got a complimentary upgrade to a Studio Suite which had an amazing outdoor bath, extremely comfortable bed and well-equipped kitchenette. The pool area was great and the outdoor areas were really peaceful and inviting. Complimentary snacks in the foyer was a lovely touch and an amazing breakfast each morning was had! We couldn’t recommend this place enough, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai but still within a short walking distance. Thank you Gategaa Village for an amazing stay!☺️

The hotel's interior design and guest rooms are utterly captivating. It's clear the owner poured immense effort into every design choice and selection, from the large furniture pieces to the smallest porcelain details. The bed was exceptionally comfortable—it was my favorite hotel during my two-week trip in Thailand.
The only drawback is that mosquitoes occasionally appear in the rooms. While bicycles are available for free use, they require some maintenance.

The room had enough space for three of us with the bunk bed option - which is quite hard to find, (we were travelling as a family with my child, 5 yo). Had a nice little cooking area (nice touch to provide some basic pans and washing up items). The pool on the rooftop was lovely for an afternoon swim. Lovely to leave out little snacks in the main lobby which can be accessed at any time. The staff were helpful! The place was very clean!
The bathroom was a little small for three people to share, could have been slightly larger. Breakfast is a little bit basic (compared to other properties within a similar budget). Lastly, I think it would have been nice to stay a little more central to be able to step out and experience Chiang Mai, especially when travelling with young children - where you might want to come back to the accommodation for a little down time before stepping out again. There isn't much in the direct vicinity of the accommodation. Gaategaa has a casual backpacker vibe to it which I might have missed during my research - but if you're looking for that, then this is the place!

The room is spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable. There is also a bigger size fridge with freezing compartment in the room. Good water pressure in the shower. Free bike rental with helmet.

Tranquil, cosy and good facilities (washer & dryer). The hotel and room had many things which makes the stay such a comfortable one. Location is also quiet and at the same time not too far from central Chiang Mai.
Hotel was also kind to store our luggages a few days when we travelled to another city.
Pillows could have been firmer. Smoking area should be a little further out instead of at the front entrance of lobby door.
