The location
This hotel has not been renovated/upgraded in decades it seems and frankly comes across as worn out (stains, curtains, leakage stains, outdated extremely noisy air conditioning, pool looking dirty), restaurant service so slow that I left and never even bothered to come back for breakfast. Wifi constantly failing. Elevator broken. It may have been an advanced hotel in the 80s and I went back for personal reasons from that time but I was very sad and disappointed to see it in this state. A lot needs to be done to make this competitive again.

When we check in we were informed that the elevators were not working. We were informed later by previous guess that the elevators have not been working for two years. It was difficult to go to the third floor after long days, it was a big disappointment.

The staff was wonderful, super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and serving staff were very friendly as well. The pool area was beautiful. The bathroom was spacious.
The SMELL in our room was HORRIBLE!! It was the strongest old, mildew smell I have ever experienced in a hotel. The staff member who helped us with our luggage immediately went and found some spray that he used in our room, which did nothing to help. We turned the AC to help shift air but it was still horrific. Obviously water damage somewhere since our carpet was so stained. All of the room decor was quite old, maybe from 1980 or 90s. The giant mirrors on the headboard area and the large mirror near the TV had so many stains on it, it was just unappealing. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a table, very hard and uncomfortable. Lastly, elevator not in service because of maintenance??? Really? Reviewers have commented about that for months. It’s clearly not maintenance but rather broken and not being repaired. Since we visit El Salvador every year to visit in-laws, I would really have to think twice about staying here again. Had I read my own review prior to staying here, I would have passed on this location.
