We loved that our junior suit was spacious, with a nice view of the pool. Overall Friendly staff. The thing that keeps us going back to jacana is their gardens... and the sound of the waterfall is so peaceful.
Their was a particular staff member during breakfast who treated guests like children. I'm sure she meant well, but it didn't come across as professional.
And you could tell that other guest were annoyed about her behavior.
My advice to this lady: ask before you assume, and don't treat people like they're kindergarten children. Sometimes over-friendlyness can come across as very annoying.
Another thing, normally the sauna and the jacuzzi are complementary for hotel guest. That is not the case at jacana. So you're only complimentary options are swimming or strolling through the gardens.
The aquarium has some beautiful and huge fishes, but please it needs to be cleaned. You can barely see anything.

1. The hotel had a very pleasant atmosphere.
2. Our room had a pool view, which made it very convenient to walk directly from the back to the pool.
3. The food was good, and I especially appreciated having a microwave in the room, which was very handy.
1. The floor in the room often felt oily, which made it uncomfortable.
2. There is a large gap under the door, and in the evening we heard something crawling in our trash can. This may be due to the gap, as it allows insects to enter the room.
3. We also had to wait a long time for hot water in the bathroom.
4. The staff could have been friendlier.
5. We were unsure whether a blanket was forgotten, as we only had what felt like a second bed sheet.

Spacious rooms and great location. The ambiance of the waterfalls and wood are very peaceful and relaxing. The Housekeeping staff was very friendly and kind, especially Jane.
The reception and customer service staff are not friendly towards American guests. Well let me clarify: the young ladies who work as the cashier charging my card for the room were very helpful and kind but the breakfast staff does not smile or say good morning. The issue I had upon arrival was that my card would not charge and I was told they needed to add an extra 5% service charge because I’m using a MasterCard. The listing did not say this. There needs to be full disclosure of all charges and if the property is going to charge in advance like the listing says then they must do so. The breakfast was very poor with no smoothies and very limited options.

I liked the location and the pool was great!
mosquitos are rampant at night, needed bug spray or something to help! Also, upon leaving I was charged $20usd for towels because they had make up on them? For a hotel to this standard this is crazy, this is not an airbnb! It could easily be washed off

The location is rather good although a bit far away from the historical center.
The hotel is kept really clean, the pool is nice and the included breakfast was enjoyable.
The staff was nice but adding more experienced staff, better trained for customer relations, would level up the overall experience in this hotel.

The pool was the highlight.garden was well taken care of.
No relaxation and rest at night,because of the noisy ballroom next door that had weekend events till 3-4oclock in the morning.and the hotel management didn’t do anything about it.the bar and restaurant at the pool were understaffed,slow and disorganized.it took almost an hour to receive your orders and there weren’t even that many guests.
The rooms were outdated,shower cabin was too small and tv was a 15inch pc monitor.

Everything was good.
There were no bathroom mats on the floor when u come out of it its all wet floor and I coulnd't get a late check out, the frontdesk lady did not even hesitate or apologise that we could not get a late check out. Just with an attitude like, no we are fully booked and it is not possible. Just like that. A bigger playground for the kids with terras sets would be great, more beach beds with umbrella because the sun! But overall good!

The resort is absolutely beautiful. The pictures don't serve much justice. There's this particular staff by the name of Petronella she's golden ✨️ ?. JACANA 100 POINTS. ?
I didn't like the fact that until we got there, then utility and 10% other charges were added to the cost. Until now, i haven't figured out what exactly were considered other charges since I was charged the same thing every time I ordered at the bar and asked that it be sent to my room.
